I run it about 30 times each on both my cleric and hunter. I consistently got top place in both healing and damage but not sure if that has any baring. I'm guessing its just random cause I've seen people getting it after 2 runs if those people can be believed.

Worse case. Buy it on AH for about 35k AD.

I haven't gotten the wolf, either, after scores of runs. But I got the shadow wolf mount during the Pit Fight Call to Arms on my very first run. So I think it's just a fickle RNG.

Unreliable RNG is correct. I've won three of them in this event. Used two and gave the third to a guildie. Don't know how many runs, but I've accumulated nearly 2000 of those medallion tokens. All on the same character. There will probably be lots on the AH.. that's where I got my first one after the last time Orc Assault ran. That event, I only ran it a few times.

The RND is low for the companion.

i'll use my experience as an example of what you might expect.

Since the first Orc Assault CTA came, and the subsequent CTAs I had not had a companion dropped. I don't know how many times i ran the CTAs but it was alot in the 3-4 day span for each one.

This time around I finally got my first companion to drop in this CTA.

It sucks but you can't do anything about it, except keep running it over and over again, hoping RNG is on your side.

thanks so much for your input. I was really thinking that maybe I was missing something. Just knowing I'm not was my biggest concern.I'll keep running it and maybe I'll get it. guess i got spoiled with the drop rates in WOW. thanks again

Yup I've never gotten a companion drop in any event, ever. This one is no exception. Frustrating to say the least. I prefer the choice of picking up a companion from the merchant with earned tokens if all else fails.

    :O

I ran the last skirmish event constantly. Didn't get the pirate girl.
Happened to wake up early on Monday, ran it twice and got her
just before the deadline. RNG's are a

First time this ran, I got two wolves. Helm's Hold CTA, I never got the Paladin. Velosk CTA, got 5 mounts, one of which I had to discard. Blackdagger CTA, one Swashbuckler. Second time around in Orc Assault, I got 5 wolves. The drop rates aren't any worse, just that the RNG in this game can be very frustrating.

I can't tell you how many times I've run it, but I've spent over 17 hours of game play and I have not seen the wolf drop. I dont know what happened, but the last one with the swashbuckler was much different in drop rate. I spent the same amount of hours on the last CTA and got 3 Swashbucklers.

I went 7 hours straight playing and switching between my 7 characters on the second day...not One dam wolf. I got butloads of Dye though.

It would be great if I could at least buy it with the marks that drop. I have a TON of those.

The only companion drop I've ever received from a CTA event is the swashbuckler... and that was after 80+ runs.

I've played this CTA before and have never received the wolf after dozens of runs. Seriously, they need to make it purchasable with the event tokens. And no, I dont want to buy it off the auction house ... I want it to be MY wolf that I earned myself.

I pretty much gave up on the Neverwinter special events and now just buy the companions through the AH. You can make more than enough AD between events every month or so to get whatever new ones show up. If I had one character maybe I'd grind them out myself but I have 6 so yeah... That's not going to happen.

I share Hercules125 sentiment on this topic though I don't know him.

As much as I like this game and LOVE D&D Forgotten Realms. I didn't participate in this weekends event nor will I be doing these again as I said in my post link below. Not until they make companion rewards purchasable with the medallions instead of a supposed RNG. Thus I had a Great weekend earning Bonus Marks for Reputation systems in Star Trek Online among other things.;) Rather than lose my mind in Neverwinter. I'm a fan but I'm not an idiot.

RNG is a broken way to do rewards. They need to add failsafes such that for each skirmish you participate in that you don't get it, it increases your chances on the next run.

No one should do 50+ runs and not get one. That is just a poor design.

    Finally!

Last run of the day before work and the thing drops! 87 runs total, 6 less slots in my bag, they really need to increase the dye stack amount.

But still very boring because of the too low drop rate.

My son got up early to try a few more times before school -- I told him he had to quit playing no later than 6:30 and he got the companion at 6:27.

I gave up; if I decide I want it I'll buy it from the AH.

I ran this twice over the weekend to grab a couple of free dye packs. My CW color scheme is basically this dye pack with the olive/tan dyed over with black. Looks great. Anyway, I decided today, while home for lunch to run it two more times (10 minutes left on the timer), and got another companion (picked up two the first time this CTA event was live).

    Yay! Random is random.

Sorry to read this, Drezzat. But I am surprised that you seem to have had high expectations. This CTA was like the other CTAs. Tons of dyes and the elusive companion that never drops. If you play in family ("Ok kids we all play NW for one hour and at 21:00 everybody goes to bed") maybe running a dungeon will be more fun than repeatedly grinding a CTA again and again.
Yes the kids like to get the newest and coolest mount/companion, and running a good old dungeon is unlikely to bring anything like this, but maybe by selling/salvaging all the dungeon loot then you can pool the AD and buy a cool companion/mount in AH for one kid.
