Thayan book of the dead automatic equip....

Well, I have been opening box for 3 day now, opened 300+ to be able to get something that i could sell of the AH to make a little profit... Finaly hit the jackpot getting a Thayan book of the dead...

The thing is, the artifact automaticaly equiped in my artifact empty slot.. How is this bind on equip if it equip itself !?

I want to have people's tought on this and see how PW work this issue out...

I am sure other people had the same issue already and hope something will be made about this ...

Very very sad moment for my waller right now lol

Would have assume a prompt before the equip like all other BOE items... but nope :(

    And for those who are currently opening box, make sure you have your artifact filled or else that you realy want to use the book, on the character you currently opening box with...

    I would realy realy want to have my book unbinded as this issue should not be happening... EVER

    It happens. Equipment slots should be totally off limits to everything but direct action on the player's part. Except stackable items like potions if there is already a stack present.

    If you haven't, you need to put in a ticket. It may or may not help, but I don't think you will get any help from the forum post.

    you didn't have your first artifact from the introduction to artifacts quest equipped? maybe they just assumed you would have that before you tried to open up 300+boxes for a rare artifact.

    If you find an artifact they will auto equip if you don't have three total. The same thing happened when I found the Eye in Dread Ring. It automatically went to my third slot =)

    Don't think this is always true - at least for artifacts purchased on the AD. I bought one on my mule character who has ZERO artifacts and it wasn't auto-equipped. (Although I haven't checked if it was bound - now you are giving me nightmares....)

    However for the Dread Ring artifact as it is BoP it make sense to auto-equip if if possible.

    i tested and ad bought one dont...But it did equip on my third slot directly from the chest

    This should only happen to artifacts that are bound to you or BoP.

    IMO OP didn't like it and now wants cryptic to unbind it for him.
    Won't happen.

    It should only happen to artifacts that are bop, but doesn't. IMO OP know what happened and PW will check it and see its true and unbind it :)

    IMO OP didnt use the artifact not even a second and IMO OP can judge if he like something or not by reading description IMO

    The second artifact i got in NWN was in Skirmish (an Catalogue's BoE) and it didn't equip automatically, in that moment i had 3 free artifacts slots, cause was with a low lvl character.

    You get slot 2-3 only at lvl 60 by the way...

    I just got the Thayan Book of the Dead and it did not auto-equip. It does say it's BOE and if I go to refine to look at the upgrade, it tells me it will bind, so I guess they fixed whatever the issue was. I hope they fixed it for you specifically.

    For the record, I did have the main artifact slot filled at the time of open, did not have the other two slots filled at all, and am 60 (obviously by having the two additional slots). I hope info can help someone.

    I actually just came to find out what they were actually worth, as I don't know whether I should be using, selling, or trading since they are so new and shiny.

    Yep, I got one yesterday on my main. Only had one artifact at the time and it did NOT equip. By the way, they are worth about 3.1mil AD at the moment. I decided to use mine though because it is the best artifact in the game for dps, or so I believe.
