Artifacts and Skirmishes

Does anyone know how often artifacts are obtained from skirmishes? And do they drop from the bosses or the chest at the end?

    I got the green Auroras catalogue from the chest at the end of Dread legion skirmish after 50+ runs , somebody on here posted that they saw a boss drop one so I dunno about that but the chest deffo drops them , just very rarely.

    I also got a green catalogue from the chest, but during blacklake skirmish.
