I fell in love with Control Wizard when I'm a GWF. I have played my GWF for a month now and I don't wanna lose his progress. PWE, please make a class change option in module 3! I would do anything.

It's been asked lots of times, doesn't look hopeful. If it's any consolation, when I was newish, I deleted a level 57 GWF and a level 54 TR because I didn't want to spend money yet and I didn't want to wait til I'd saved enough AD to respec. (I just didn't like the powers I selected. I made a new GWF and TR. If I only knew then what I know now.. lol) Recommend you save the AD and get char slots to make what you want. Earning AD to convert to Zen is pretty easy, and there are lots of threads to tell you how.
I hope it helps. (Of course it might be irrelevant because if I read you right, you have an available slot and just don't feel like leveling?)
Oh.. one more thing.. Why on earth would you want to give up your GWF? I totally understand wanting a CW.. but GWF's are the most fun class in the game! (My opinion of course. Also I don't do PvP)
Rhyon Cawdorian GWF | Opa Loka TR | Cormac Argentus III DC | Annika Thornblade GF | Aerys Skydark HR | Bartin Findlor TR | Aellia Baalthrall CW | Lucan Hawkmoon CW | Opa Brahk GWF | Korzbyrk DC | Den Kruk GWF | Jherek Skarsin CW |
Roland Mac Sheonin GF | Tarron Direheart SW |
You are better off making a new character and leveling it to 60. It will be much faster than waiting for Cryptic to add a way to change class (which I personally see as a bad thing when a game has that...).

Make a new character.
It is unlikely we will see a class change option because it destroys so much of the leveling requirement.
This is one of those ideas which makes perfect sense from a player standpoint but would actually be horrible for the game as a whole.

The only problem I have with this idea is that having learned and leveled 1 class to 60 does not necessarily mean you have enough knowledge to effectively play or build every other class at 60 - maybe if you already had at least one 60 of the class you want to switch to, then it could be done...

I think it would be a good idea to give players the option to retrain a certain char. That means he starts from scratch as level 1. This might seem weird for a character who's already a "protector of neverwinter"... among other titles, but I can't picture someone who's been slashing with his sword be more skilled with an orb of magic than your average rookie. Better yet, to avoid making a new introductory map and issues with professions, praying etc, they could start at level 10 which symbolises their past experience.
This option will allow players to keep whatever classless bound items they want to keep.

That's actually not a bad idea, really. I have at least one char that I wouldn't mind switching, even if I had to level from 1 again.. if not for losing the companions and some other classless items. I'd even not be concerned having to re-level the companions.
Edit: Oh.. ech... the professions.. leveling leadership to 20 again? no thanks.. lol

I have one of each and I tnk each new class is easier, although I think mastering a hr is quite tough.
I also love cw and have a slight distaste for gwf.... They are really really good but I don't like playing mine as much.
Maybe split time between leveling the cw and farming on the gwf so you have recourses to gear your cw when it hits 60

Save up AD from the leadership to buy zen to get 2 more character slots. It really shouldn't take that long if you have multiple.

Not sure what you are saying. I have 7 chars, 6 are level 20 leadership.. I don't need another char and I have an available char slot. I was trying to help the OP out. I do have one char that I created just for generating AD... 7 chars, only 6 classes... But he's a TR. Never intended to play him, but now, why not? I would rather have two CWs (fire/storm) or 2 GF/GWFs (Shared Paragons) than 2 TRs, the Whisper Knife thing just doesn't interest me. I created the second TR long before the HR, the Firemage, or the shared GF/GWF thing was released.
Of course, although you quoted me, your reply may have been to OP, in which case.. nevermind.

Well... they could make a "wish spell" item that basically allows your character to "wish" that they were class X instead of class Y... play some neat little rapid-rewind type cutscene, and plop them right back on the beach where it all began, at level 1 of their newly chosen class, race, and gender, (allow the player to change only 1 or 2 if so desired). Let them retain all their companions and gear - only return it to the player after the tutorial via the in-game mail system, as a mystery package from some "unknown benefactor".
Since players are all at different points in their own storyline, anyway, this wouldn't be that big of an issue...

Yep.. But we have dozens (or hundreds?) of adventurers jaunting around on unicorns with sprite companions and others bouncing around in mechanical lobsters.. so I don't think Cryptic is too concerned with anyone's alternate reality immersion or whatever they are calling it. I've seen the arguments before from people saying that class change messed with their immersion. It was as silly then as it would be now. Not one of them is aware of my existence at all, and they couldn't be bothered to care if they were, except that they didn't have a say in it.

Just do the same as DDO does and call it reincarnation - you start again at level 1 but retain everything else. You can keep all your equipment, companions, etc but of course can only equip those that you meet the class and level requirements for.
Oh well I figured that I also really like the TR and HR along with my GWF im going to max my GWF out in everything (or most things, cause rank110's are really hard) before I level up my new character. I just had trouble's since GWF's are really fun but alot of classes are also fun and i wanted to experience them all. oh well..
There are many reasons why you should never be able to change class. There are probably a thousand technical reasons why it can't be done, but even if it could be done it would still be a terrible idea for plenty of gameplay reasons.
One of them is PUGs, imagine getting into an epic dungeon with people that just changed class and know nothing about how the new class should be played and what are its strengths and weaknesses... it would be a nightmare for any player...

We do not even have a race change option yet. Let them start with that before we dive into any possible class changes, which will likely not happen to be honest...

This says it all. Getting to lvl 60 is easy enough, but learning to play the class? That's an entirely different issue. Put it this way: I have a lvl 49HR who just finished Icepeak. If I carefully choose my skills and use them effectivly, she's pretty much a halfling Terminator. If I use the wrong skills, don't know when to use them, or even don't bother use her blades, she's by far the most squishy character I've played. At one point in the pirate king area, I nearly gave up playing her entirely. The lizardmen were everywhere, and I couldn't get away from them no matter what I did. Seriously, they run backwards faster than I can ride forward on a 110% speed mount. Clearly the only options were to spam potions like crazy, or kill them all. I chose the latter.
The point is you need to levle up from lvl 1 to learn how to effectivly use your class. As for the switching class and being stuck back on lvl 1, that has been suggested before. Even by yours truly.

My friend as well, he started off with a GWF and made a control wizard after.
He has since adopted the Wizard as his main instead of his GWF.
Companies want you to level up new characters, it makes you spend more time in game. So they'd never have a easy way out like a class change option even if they could make money off it, to them theyd lose more in the long run.
I'm not a fan of CW's, i tried playing them a few times but they just seem to constantly get ambushed and their shifting ability or time it takes to slow mobs down just isn't fast enough for me.

Class changes mess with their immersion they said, as the holy priest of Selune sat atop the infernal nightmare with a bear companion...
These people have no flipping perspective.
Furthermore what would be the point of starting over at level 1 and keeping your inventory. So now you just have a cluttered inventory full of stuff to valuable to toss but not useful at all.
This forum set up is absolutely horrible, I cant even figure out how to get my knight of the feywild title.
