Hey adventurers!

We'll be performing this week's maintenance tonight 1/15 instead of tomorrow morning. Maintenance is scheduled to start at 10 PM PST (Pacific). The expected downtime is 2 hours but may be extended due to unforeseen circumstances.

Patch Notes are available here.

When is maintenance for you? Click here to find out.

Thanks,

Dwight

Update 1: (1:17 PM PST) Changed estimated down time to 2 hours instead of 3. This maintenance will also include Account Server maintenance.
Update 2: (10:00 PM PST) Maintenance has begun, patch notes added.
Update 3: (10:36 PM PST) Maintenance is progressing as planned. Still expecting to be down for another hour and a half. We will update everyone if anything changes. Thanks!
Update 4: (11:18 PM PST) Maintenance is ongoing, servers will hopefully be up within the hour.
Update 5: (11:34 PM PST) Maintenance has completed ahead of schedule. Welcome back to Neverwinter!

Wow. This is out of the ordinary. I'll presume there's a high-level (elevated issue) you want to get in there ASAP. I've read the patch note put up for Preview and presume they are most often the same for Live.

Either way, thanks for all the hard work you guys (and gals) do over there!

What's the reason behind the change of time? Just curious.

I really appreciate everything that you guys do to keep the game fresh, and keep it interesting for all of us, so I wanted to make sure I made that statement of gratitude before asking, why do you guys from time to time do these patches at 10pm at night? I mean, this has to be a pretty high traffic time for the game compared to 7am in the morning?

    Just curious.

They usually do the regular patches at 7 AM their time on Thursday morning ( California time ) , they brought this maintenance forwards today but I'd be surprised if they would be willing to tell us why.

ya, Im not sure about the time though (6-8am UTC means 10-12pm PST). 6-8 in the morning PST would mean east coast players would not be able to play from 9-11 am, but 2-4 am PST would accomodate most players in North America. 6am-8am UTC accomodates England, but Im guessing its an urgent patch issue and nothing to do with Zone area effeciency, so Im good either way. Keep up the patches guys and thx for your help :)

We occasionally perform account server maintenance which requires server down time as well. Instead of having the server down twice, we decided to perform both the regular maintenance and the account server maintenance tonight at the same time. :)

this week's maintenance tonight 1/15 instead of tomorrow morning. Maintenance is scheduled

It cannot be described as scheduled when, precisely, it is performed out of the regular schedule. All the opposite, by thge way. This a surprise maintenance, an unscheduled maintenance, an admin-wants-to-catch-his-train maintenance, whatever you name it, but not a schduled maintenace.

"Scheduled" in this case is a technical term. It means someone told the machines to shut down a specified time.

If you usually turn off your car at 5:30 PM after work, but on one night you stop at the store and instead turn off your car at 6 PM, this was not an "Unscheduled Engine Stop".
