Currently the game has your garden variety mimics as enemies and the winter mimics as companions and like most of you, I know that is not enough mimics. So this is a guide for both devs and players alike for what kind of mimics we should be looking forward to in the future
First up, the good guys:
Spring Mimic: This mimic hails from the Feywild and to match in with it's surroundings it is green, has a floral design, and it's tongue is vine like in nature.. Some even think it might be part fey. Since time is a time of renewal, this mimic has learned some how to heal it's allies. By merely jumping up and clamping down on it's friend's head it can heal nasty wounds and cure deadly poisons. Alternatively, it can use it's vine like tongue to pour it's healing powers into it's friends head if people don't want the Mimic attaching itself to their head, but this isn't nearly as fun.
Summer Mimic: Originally hailing from the Thay, these mimics appear to be adorned with rubies. Having picked up some tricks from the Red Wizards, these mimics are offensive powerhouses who can spit fire at their enemies along with the usual tactics of chomping on them. For reasons unknown, these Mimics have be migrating to the summer festival grounds.
Autumn Mimic: These earthy mimics are brown in color. They are able to control their jump attack much better than their other season mimic brethren and can make their enemies fall all around them.
Pirate Mimic: These mimics tend to serve on ships when they aren't burying themselves in the sand on lost islands. While not much for combat, they are great at sniffing out treasure and will even hold onto some treasure for their friends. On Talk Like A Pirate day, Protector's Enclave opens it's doors to these mimics so they can find new captains to guide them. Alternatively some vendors will sell this mimic into service in exchange for seals.
And now the bad guys:
Spider Mimics: These fierce mimics hail from the Underdark, living near Drow encampments. This mimic looks at home among the drow, having spiderlike features. It is so convincing that spiders have taken to living inside the spider mimic's mouth which it can spit out at it's foes. Also upon it's death, any remaining spiders will be released and attack.
The Mimic Moon: Recently a new moon has appeared over faerun. Though after looking at it in the telescope at Twilight Tor some adventurers have figured out that it is no moon, it's a fully operational gigantic mimic! Journey aboard the S.S Silver Kitten, a skyship that is able to travel into space, to fight this giant mimic. Once you have put down this fearsome beast, your adventure has only begun because you must journey inside this living moon to find out who is behind this attack.
Dungeon Delve Mimic: This intelligent mimic is the creation of a mad Mind Flayer and the power behind the Mimic Moon. It has mind controlling powers from it's Mind Flayer creator and uses them to make other bad guys it's puppet so it can escape. However once every 6 hours, you can catch it off guard and defeat it along with it's current puppet bad guy to reveal amazing loot.
Or they should be new skins for the existing one :[
For the companion ones, each one represents a different type of companion. Spring is the leader, summer is the striker, fall is the controller, while winter as we know already is a defender.
Pirate Mimic ... WANT! Yarrr yo ho ho and a bottle of rum.
Ah, right, I did forget that it also is great a singing sea shanties, which is why pirate captains welcome them aboard their ship.

Steed-Mimic: This mimic is quite a bit larger than your standard ones. It features reinforced corners and edges, and usually has various stamps or seals adorning its sides, reflecting just how far this friendly monster has traveled. Unlike other mimics, this one has a flattened lid, with what appears to be rather plush padding. If a friendly humanoid approaches the mimic, and it wishes to make itself known, the mimic will extend 2 pseudopods out of each side, which are shaped like handles. A person need only seat themselves on the steed-mimic, grasp both handles, and the mimic will transport them wherever they wish to go - the person simply pulls on the two handles as a means of steering the mimic, and it will travel in that direction in a bounding motion.

I knew I forgot something. I was going to call it Horse Mimic, but Steed-Mimic is better.
I'm assuming that means you are forwarding the info onto the devs.
It looks like solid confirmation to me.

We had some more good ideas about Mimics in the stream today. One was pudding mimics and other was adding mimics to PvP.
Here is my Mimic PvP idea. A new map with PvE objectives that involve chests. Randomly the chests will be replaced with mimics that you will have to fight instead of giving you a benefit.

Heh. Just the other day I almost mistook a Winter Mimic for a Portable Altar.

I've got it!
*drum roll please*

I introduce the Knox Mimic! This feisty fellow, while looking almost identical to your standard mimic, sports a bada&s beard and wields an absurdly large axe with its tongue! This mimic has learned the art of human speech, and likes to give rousing words of encouragement before, during, and after battle!
