  You can go in without a party, but don't expect to survive. Just click on the door and select the option to go in with the party you have.

  Are you sure you weren't trying Epic Spellplague?

  You can't get into the epic versions of dungeons from the front door.
  
  Don't know why he can't get into the normal version though.

  I waited for half an hour to find a party and I completed the dungeon .

  This happened to me because it thought I was still in a queue. (Even though it didn't have the button at top saying return to instance)
  
  What fixed this for me was completely logging out and than logging back in. Then I went to the door and selected enter with my current party.
