Great Weapon Fighter Frontline Surge

Hi, i just got my GWF to lv30 today and picked IV path for it. of course the first encounter i picked was Frontline Surge since everybody's been talking about how great it is. It does do a nice damage and knocks everybody down in the path which is great but my question is there seem to be no hit-on effect for this skill on my GWF, say there's no screen shake, sound whatsoever, just the animation of the skill and things fell down. is it just me or is it a know bug? i've been searching online and seems like no one's getting this issue.

Thanks

Check your sound card or something, I have never heard of this myself, it makes noises for me at least...

There's a brief sound, like a sword being drawn from a sheath.

Yes, this is a bug. Before module 2 was released, frontline surge created a loud metallic clashing sound if you hit at least 1 mob, and a faint sound if you didnt hit anything. As it is now, you only hear the faint sound, wether you hit mobs or not. I reported this bug, hopefully it will get fixed soon.

Yeah I noticed this too. Everytime a GWF hit me with it. Didnt hear anything. GF's frontline surge operates fine.

That is strange, since I play a GF, and I don't get the strong metallic clashing sound if I hit with frontline surge.

Have it on both my gwf and gf, and on both it just makes a nice smooth "shiing" sound. Fast, low key animation/sound on an encounter with substantial cc, damage and a long cd is nothing but win.

They broke the effect with Mod 2 update, also for GF.

    Hello czhouzhouc,

I'm Spirals from the audio team here at Cryptic. Can you confirm that you still aren't hearing the on-hit sfx or seeing the screen shake for frontline surge on the GWF?

I took a look at it this morning and it appears to be playing on hit fx as intended.

Somewhat OT but can you also fix the sfx and fx for crescendo? keeps playing if you were targeted by it and then mount/dismount. continues after respawn in pvp too
same for impact shot (or maybe cloud of steel, not sure)

Would you be able to list detailed steps for reproduction of this bug please?

From what I've seen, it happens if a GWF is on enemy team in PVP. If they get the killing blow on you and have crescendo slotted, it'll play the animation any time you mount. Not sure if swapping mounts help fix it, as I only have 1 mount. It doesn't even take them using it on you, although I have noticed it seems to be more often if they do use it on you for a kill.

    Player A, Player B

Player A uses crescendo on Player B. Player B can die or survive, doesn't matter. (not sure 100% sure if Player B has to die at some stage for it to happen first, but he definitely doesn't have to die as a resultof Crescendo)
Player B uses mount and Crescendo Visual and Sound plays targeted on Player B. No damage is dealt, this is purely a phantom FX playing.
Player B dismounts, same as above.
Player B dies and respawns. He then mounts and same as above.

Same for Impact Shot or Cloud of Steel not sure which of the 2 does it)

Not sure if you audio designer people picked this up, but this is not only an issue for GWF. I play a GF, and the on-hit sfx for frontline surge is gone since module 2. When hitting at least one target with frontline surge, I get the same faint sword-sheathing-like sfx as hitting no target at all. Thanks for your efforts.

I am also only getting the "miss" sound FX. No clashing sound on hit the way there used to be.

    Hey guys,

So it looks like a fix for the frontline surge Hit Fx will be going out in the next build or so. I confirmed that it is fixed on preview so live should be seeing it very soon.

    Thanks!
