I think this is a simple and necessary UI improvement to the Auction House.
Currently, you need to have a calculator on-hand when selling or buying stacks of items, to determine the per-item cost. This is absurd, as this is exactly the sort of math the system should be doing for you.
When browsing stacks of items (eg. trade materials, potions, scrolls), the per-item cost should be listed in addition to the cost for the stack.
When selling stacks of items, the user should be able to enter a per-item cost, which then calculates the total cost for the stack.
World of Warcraft had this feature almost 10 years ago, when it launched:
Thanks for considering my feedback.

So instead of say making 15 separate posts to AH of 4 dyes each, you could just post 60 dyes with a buy out price per item from the stack. So if someone wants to buy 60 dyes they could or if they only need a few they could buy them from the stack.
This would help cut down on the clutter in the AH. Personally I get a lil tired of clicking through multiple pages of the exact same items posted at the exact same prices when im just browsing the AH.
So, to clarify: cost divided by quantity is the mathematical calculation recipe to get the answer you need.
Example: COST/QUANTITY=Price-per-unit in a stack.

Yes, I know you mention this in the OP - but it's hardly absurd is my point.
Now THIS is a genuinely useful and functional feature request I can support completely.
And I'm not sure how it calculates sales price when you put something up for sale, but it's typically, WAY off base.

This would be an amazing addition to the AH .
Also, some prices are really out of world... try to sell 99 Religion Kit and see the suggested price...
