Guardian's tab in pvp

PvP is the weak part of Neverwinter. I'm not saying that it's completely broken, but that some things can be changed.

First, tab for guardian fighters. I'm pretty sure it takes off 8% damage resistence (correct me if I'm wrong), but it only lasts for one hit. Then you have to mark them again, and again, and again. Gwf's get unstoppable, which makes them literally unstoppable. Wizards get that thing where they hang the person, which can offer huge advantages in terms of control. Rogues get stealth, and there's entire builds built around it! So here's what I propose: give guardians lunging strike. If used in a certain way, it can be a form of "dodge." Or give them "knights challenge" since it is a taunt. On tab, it could have a longer cooldown, or you have to do something special to trigger it, but GUARDIANS' TABS NEED TO BE REWORKED!

Second, the animation time for some skills is just horrible. Take anvil of doom, for example. I could take a coffee break and still have time to watch it come down. And switching from threatening rush to cleave. Compare a GWF to a GF. After they unhorse someone, a GWF will be able to do three of their cleaves (what's it called for them?) during the time a GF switches from thrratening rush to cleave. And dodges. They need to be fixed. Let's say a guardian is fighting a rogue. The GF triggers anvil of doom and raises his sword above his head. And the rogue will dodge, but look at the time he has to do it! From the second the G raises his sword to the impact point. Thats at least a full second. The time which they get to dodge should be shortened. This is especially annoying because for a guardian, burst is king, and if he doesn't get that burst, he'll get melted right away by the dps classes.

Pleasr ignore the part under this, I couldn't scroll to edit it

So, the Dev have

CWs get Teleport, their dodge, on Shift. Entangling Force is an encounter :)

He was mentioning Tab, and wizards get Spell Mastery slot on tab, which is an empowered encounter ability (in addition to the fact that they can slot 4 encounters, unlike the other classes that slot 3). Probably the OP thinks every wizard out there puts Choke Spell on the Tab slot in pvp.

As for the thread itself, be very careful to rework the GF TAB ability, it has a very powerful effect in PvE if used properly, (for pulling in general and getting aggro from adds in fights like Hrimnir and Karrundax) and taking it away just for the sake of PvP could have pretty bad consequences in PvE tanking.

I think that the mark, only in PVP, should possibly also cause opponents to lose their target and switch it to the guardian. Maybe have a cooldown? This seems a decent way to help guards have some additional ability and fit with their class.

On second thought adding this to mark may be helpful in PVE as well as far as helping secure a guard on the dungeon party. IF mark could temporarily pull the targets of monstor's to them that may prove a good fix.

Fix GF's Tab marking without taking away it's PvE effectiveness.

No thanks. And Mark coupled with enhanced mark already does wonders for aggro generations.

Oh yeah misread. Entangling Force on Tab, especially in PvP=big fail, worth mentioning, since I saw a few CWs lately still using it.

you're welcome. Do you have any ways to make a guardian consistently useful? I'm talking pve only as I don't give a HAMSTER about pvp.

    For PvP and PvE:

On my GWF, I use my Tab ability in every encounter, often times multiple times per encounter.

On my CW, I use my Tab ability in every encounter, often times multiple times per encounter.

On my DC, I use my Tab ability in every encounter, often times multiple times per encounter.

On my TR, I use my Tab ability in every encounter, often times multiple times per encounter.

On my GF, I often go through entire play sessions without ever using Tab. I can count on 1 hand the number of encounters specifically that it is useful for, and those are the only times it is used. It is NEVER used in PvP.

GF is brokenly underpowered in PvE at the moment, and since launch, right down to basic class mechanics.

As for PvP, I quite enjoy my GF, but he basically doesn't even have a tab ability, which puts him at a disadvantage to every other class.
