Just recently got into the game and i am finding the ranger hunter quite enjoyable. I already have a ranger but i wanted to make another with a different race and though that the booster pack would give me a good advantage in leveling. My only concern is that it is so costly!
Has anyone used it so far and can share their views whether they have found the booster pack a worthwhile investment?
Only if you want the pet, the hawk is redeemable account wide, therefore you can get it on all your toons. Other than that its not really worth it. For lvling get yourself the epic lvling mainhand+offhand+neck and you are set.
Let's be fair... first this is a decision only you can make (the worth of the pack) - to help you decide, here's what you get:
An account-wide companion (this companion can be claimed and used on every character you've created or ever will create).
This has been mentioned, now for the rest...
You also get some great starter gear that helps boost your survivability. It's good gear. You also get the Neverwinter Welcome pack which includes an XP Booster to help you level the first 15 to 20 levels quickly as possible so you can get your TAB feature, freebie companion and mount quickly. There also are other fun trinkets like costume dyes and other little things.
Personally, having already purchased the pack, I feel I definitely got my money's worth. But as I've said: you have to decide that for yourself. I've not seen any complaints from people who have purchased it.

Is there really an xp booster? I searched for the contents of the booster pack and i saw no mention of it

Yes there is, but it's in a separate box in a separate tab from the reclaim agent... I may be misremembering, but I think it's called the Adventurer's Starter Pack or something. You only get one (it is not account-bound) and in that are a few things, including an XP booster, which is a set amount of XP boost (not time-based, but amount-based). And it most certainly accelerates leveling from the time you equip it (double-click it in inventory). I think it accelerated my character from level 5 to level 15 or 20 or so in half the time it normally takes.
If you've purchased the Hero of the North or Hunter Ranger packs, check ALL tabs in the Reclaims Agent (I don't know about the Guardian Pack and I don;t recall it being included in the Feywild pack, but it is definitely in the Hero pack and I got it in the HR Booster pack). I'm not sure, but I think it's in the "Promos" tab.
The companion active bonus is pretty good for legit ranged hr's, and it has four thievery dice for swordcoast at epic rank 26 and higher just like wererat thief. The companion for actual combat does about 3x less damage than my pig companion. I got the pack for the title, pet, mass scrolls of life, greater stone of health, greater bag of holding (300k ad or so), and hood for transmuting. Any of your characters can reclaim the title, pet, and equipment pieces as much as they want, and any class can use the hood and cloak for transmute.
The pet active bonus is useless for any other class. CW's that fight from ranged with at-wills aren't doing their job. If you like junk like the title and hood and like the other stuff inside, then it's a good deal. But I imagine for most people it is not worth 3500 zen.
I am pretty sure he means the Mulhorand Set. They come from the Lock Box weapon Crates or you can pick up the 3 piece set off the AH for around 170k AD. They are great pieces as their stats improve with level so you almost always have the BiS for Main Hand, Off Hand and Neck. Also, the Main Hand Bow has a Weapon Ench. Slot.
I think id feel a bit better about the starter pack if the weapons/armor were a free transmute, because the hood is very nice looking. The hawk pet is a striker so it's pretty useless really. If you aren't using an augment pet during dungeons then you are missing a ton of offensive stats. Plus it's nice to have something that doesn't die to random AOE in the dungeon.
I should also note that the hawks damage increase at range is also pretty useless. I don't find sitting at max range makes a lot of sense considering how thorn ward forces you to close distance a lot.

Yes, we all know what a Godsend the Augments are. I bow to thee and all ye who defend their abilities with your lives.
That said: the Hunter Hawk companion that comes with the booster pack is actually quite darned good for it's class of companion, better than many others. And the player bonus stats it give HRs is decent. I'd put it's 'quality' on par with the Galeb Duhr, Honey badger and Storm Rider in terms of its actual usefulness in in-game and summoned to be with you in solo-play. Additionally, it's a blue level companion that is account-bound unlike the Augment companions.
Granted the Augment companions can be good. Okay, we get it. No need to inject "Augment companions are ALL TAHT ANDA BESTEST EVAR" into every thread that mentions companions, please. This thread is about the perceived worth of the HR Booster pack, not which companion is better or worse than others.
I bought the pack and was grateful for it. The gear was a solid boost of stats until 30s when I had to upgrade them, which is the same for greycloak. The companion is actually one that lives more often for me due to it flying away from AoE. The bag was very nice, as was the xp pot and such. All in all I was personally satisfied with the booster pack.

I gave my opinion without an aggressive tone, why don't you try it.
EDIT: I would say that if you are solo, damage is never what you need, but rather some heals. So the white cleric companion fits that bill. If you are in a group, your hawk is either providing low damage or it's dead. That's all I'll say about this.
1) There are better pets that you can get in game without spending any real $$.
2) I have no use for more storage space on my toons. Heck I only just realised that I missed the second pack expansion on my nature spec last night when I hit 50.
3) The weapons are only good below level 20 and to be honest below level 20 there is no trouble working through the game with standard drops if you keep the focus on Power and weapon damage.
4) 1 hood for transmutation is not enough value for the cost.
5) Levelling past 20 is harder than getting to 20, and by then you are getting Azures for utility slots to speed levelling up if you want to do so.
6) Nothing else I've heard of the pack has any appeal to me at all.
For me the Knight of the Feywild pack offers value; purple mount + purple pet (account wide) + 600k AD and some other stuff made it worth it to me.
For you it may be different.
Obsidian Moonlight - Paladin Obsidian Oath - Warlock A whole lot of other Obsidian toons as well.
