I have been in the game for about 4 months at this point, not an everyday player, I work alot of hours and have 2 kids as well. In the time I have played I have spent alot of time on the forums reading up on classes, I have 3 lvl 60's so far, working on 4th over holiday, and it is amazing to me how sickeningly whiny some of the posters on here have become. As a veteran of MMO's for many years, I was a horrible gankmaster in UO back in 96 and still now and again go back to my shadowknight in eq2 for old times sake, I am used to crying in forums. However, some players on this forum have taken being a whiny btch to a previously unseen level. THIS IS A FREE GAME!!! Nothing in this game REQUIRES you to spend money. For one, you can buy Zen with diamonds you earn in-game, and everything you can get with Zen, short of things like Character Slots, is not required to experience all of the content available. Does spending some money make it somewhat better at times? Yes, of course it does. PW, as much as it appears many hope, is not a bunch of gamers living at their mom's house and running this game because they are trying to make the greatest MMO in history. It's a company who's sole reason for releasing this product is to turn a profit.... Shocking, I know. Yes, they can seem annoying with so many chest drops, and the new refinement system does seem like a cash sink/grab at times. BUT, in the immortal words of the great Chuck Barris, "If you don't like it, change the F'in channel". You may now go back to whining about Stomp not lasting for 109 minutes per use. Merry Christmas
On topic agree. Good f2p game. Would recommend even as a f2p title. Company seems to actually listen to input, make changes as needed; but ofc with it in mind they are also looking to make money. Give us nice little events here and there. Add content. Overall just a + experience compared to every other f2p model mmo Ive played.
I started playing online games in prehistory of the industry. I still recall getting in trouble for racking up massive bills on the GEnie network. And being forced to work my tail off, to pay for them. Back in those days they charged per hour, for use. And woe be unto you if you logged on during their prime time rates. At the time they charged $18 per HOUR prime time.
Needless to say, I look at F2P games in a much different light then most people due to that.
Yes, while not perfect it is a good game, in fact better than many non-free games in the same genre. I think the game is much improved with the addition of Sharandar and Dread Ring, as it better reflects the single player experience when levelling up. Many bugs and exploits in dungeons have been fixed too, improving the co-op aspects of the game. The PvP is the area where I think needs most attention now. But really, for a free to play game, I am very impressed already.

I would just like to say that I had the good sense to stay out of this whole era of Online Gaming!
I would be lying, but I would like to say it anyway
The truth is I was living in a Gods Forsaken Swamp in the Rural South and a 19k connection supplied by a Mom and Pop Cable Company was considered State Of The Art.
So, yeah, I am perhaps just a scosh more understanding than some other folks.
And keep in mind that things have actually CALMED DOWN substantially since the early days of the Game. In fact the toxic levels of psychotic levels of Nerd Rage inspired me to create a Toon called The Forumite, the Worlds Angriest Dwarf.

Nice, lol. I never usually post, but ****, I guess I'm showing my age when I say I can't stand post after post of crying about a game. And yes, the ones complaining about NW being expensive have no idea what expense is, nor do they know what being ganked in Despise Dungeon due to dial-up lag feels like. **** we're old. Merry Christmas guys..... Have a great game

Chuck Barris was THE MAN!!! Albeit a psychotic, compulsive lying, alcholic, drug addict man. But still, THE MAN!!!
This seems like a pretty flammatory thread, although I agree, this probably shouldn't be here. It's rude to start, and second it's basically criticizing your own thread.
I chuckle when I hear people talk about grind these days. They don't remember spending hours a day, week after week, in crushbone killing the same orcs over and over. Having to sit looking at a spell book to get mana back, which took a long time in and of itself.

Different times for sure.
Quoted for truth. The day they added the silly little gems style mini game. Just so staring at your book for hours at a time didn't give you madness. Made me both laugh and cry It gave me the same squicky feeling as the old /pizza command.
The number of parties wiped because the Cleric was too busy with the mini game to put down the book. Still makes me snicker. Ahh good times
Unfortunately, due to the inflammatory nature of this thread, I'm going to have to close this down. I understand that people aren't fond of forum complainers, however, we all have the privilege of expressing our opinions, within the boundaries set by Rules of Conduct.
