still so much complaining about pvp unbalance... well.. this game is not PVP based.. its PVE focus... always was, and prolly always will be... classes are testing in PVE and balancing as it...
i left this game few months ago when i understand that... i love pvp most then any other aspect of game... right now, im updating game and want to see is there any improvments... but reading posts about GWF in PVP, i think i will wait for few months more...
i also reading that still there is no penalties for "quiters"... thats prolly most reason i stop playing in the first place...
have fun, guys

I've also killed plenty of GWFs. They're not really all that unless you're talking the perfects r10s. Who generally are seeking pre's and not really looking to pug anyways.
As for the PVP side, it was said that the PVP side caught the devs by surprise. They didn't realize exactly how popular it would be. This is, of course, second hand or third, or fourth.. you get the idea.. knowledge. So take it with your pre-determined amount of salt as needed. I believe with how well GG went, even with those who complain about how some focus on the win, instead of the fight, they are coming out with more/new. There are even notes in the Foundry section about attempting to give foundry PVP options from beta. it IS coming.
It's rough having to wait, especially with what looks to be a standard 3 month cycle of development. However, that's really exciting to me. That means they have a fairly fast response time for making things desired into the game. They're actively repairing bugs, shown by the patch notes. They made a, imho of course, amazing class in the hunter ranger with a very cool concept behind the tab. So, new classes, new locations, new etc, etc, etc. Patience just has to be given with them. Stumble they might do, but they've hardly fallen in terms of response time or interest in making this a wonderful game for the players.
... I remember the Caturday event. I wasn't one of the ones that did the exploit, I do, however, remember how incredably fast they were at responding to it. on top of that, they were engaging the players to let them know what was happening, how they were fixing it and even being willing to brace people with a roll back to correct the worse of it. That speaks volumes to me. Considering most dev teams *can't* talk to players, I know they *are* listening. I'm excited to see the results.
Myself and a few friends are in the process of setting up an Elite Gaming Ladders site for this Game! If Cryptic won't give us a competitive environment we shall create one!
Stay tuned! Exciting times ahead!
on my TR I run lesser enchant and only rank 7s. And i have no problem fighting most of the things I encountered except really geared TR/GWF or a really skilled CW( they are rare anyway...)
PVP can be really fun but I suggest the first thing u need to learn is to identify the match is playable or not
Example: when u constantly get 2-3 people camping you and your team is still losing on other point that pretty much means you just quit because your teammate are simply not skilled/geared enough. It no point to fight a unfair fight if your opponent significantly out gear your team or your team simply can't play.
there is a difference between having bad gear and having bad gameplay, I don't mind playing with someone that is sub 10k gs as long as he knows how to play in PVP, but if you are a bad player I would quit the match regardless how high you gs is.
i really dont want to start any flaming, but i must say... PVP in this game is exectly how it is because of ppl that think as you do...
if u going on random match... of course you will meet all kind of players with all kind of gear... some are kids, some are newbies, some are drunk, some dont care... if u dont like this, get friends and play with them and dont come in random matches (if u good as u say u are u will have no problem find good guild and good team to play with...
and random match leave to us who dont know how to play and not giving up when loosing.. keep smile
If you do as you recommend and queue with geared&skilled friends, the other team will leave 90% of the matches in the first minute.
It's OK to be a bit nooby when you start, but if some guy that looks that he knows what he's doing tells you "backcap" or "go mid", learn from him and execute, if you want to win. If you don't wanna win, then why would I stay in a team with people that prefer losing only so they can be lazy and do their daily faster?
I am in a good guild, I also have friends that are geared/skilled that play PVP. But we don't always play together, if you always get a 4 man+ premade together u end up stomping n88b on the other side or run into another premade that require your 100% focus to fight.
So sometimes if I just want a more light duty PVP for daily and stuff I go pug, as a matter of fact I pug most of my games, like 20/80 I would say. And not everyday do I have the energy or patient to carry a bunch of sub 10kgs that are on level 1 mount. When u lose that hard like I describe u should just drop it and ask for 1 v 1, if u keep fighting that is call dumb. What is the point when they can save all encounter and cc and daily for you so the moment u pop up on screen u receive like 40k dmg and die? There is no fun at it and there is no benefit to improving your skill as a PVP player.
The reason I leave is actually to help the rest, I am using my knowledge and exp to identify how even is the match, if the match is uneven to a certain point I would quit, which you should do so move on to next match hopefully it is more even on both side.
Bravo post Shadow. I like your optimism.
On to the other posts.....
I can see both sides. Slush has a point however I choose not to bail out on matches. Sometimes it does get so pointlessly one sided that I stand at the campfire and chat or whatever. In a game that is so gear dependent I'm not sure that this problem of people quitting will go away until PvP is expanded. Perhaps tournaments for pre-mades etc etc.
I will say I have had some good matches lately, the vast majority being pretty neck and neck. Not sure why that's happening though.
