I haven't heard or seen anything back from Panderus on that. I think it might have gotten sidelined with all the Module 2 stuff.
(man, I'd love to have occulus in Spellplague [unrelated to this particular achievement] fixed.)
Oculus the Inflamed? Where the 2nd orb is behind the invisible wall?
Well, you can still do the boss and get the achievement. Just do the first boss twice (reform party when you got the first sphere and go again). Then you will have both spheres and can open the gate (note: you should let two different people take the spheres… since they are the same, they can bug out and both are consumed at once on one of the two pedestals).
As to the Eye Surgeon achievement… you can get that if you do the non-epic SP. Just go the entrance in the Chasm, since you can't queue up for that with lvl 60.

Yeah. But wouldn't it be nice to NOT have to do that? There's some rogue trick that can be done that I haven't figured out yet to get behind that wall. You know... if things would work as originally designed? Granted, this orb isn't as aggravating to most players as the Scrying Orb behind an invisible wall in Neverdeath Graveyard. Hope they get that fixed sometime soon.
And now... I'm going to go hunt down that achievement thread and inquire for updates.

I did Spellplague Caverns a few days ago and both orbs worked fine, the only reason we didn't beat the boss is because the blue fire eyes activated from behind the barrier so we couldn't get in. ( We probably could have done it if we all died and respawned or something but it was hard enough just getting the party there in the first place.)
Neverwinter players are stubborn things....until you strip them down to bone. (Cursed players, my flowers, MINE!) Oh how I plotted their demise.
