I've apparently missed this in the forums thus far, or it does not exist, but I'm not sure how this one would have slipped by.
Whenever I formed my guild "Stitch Gaming" I was given the guild "stitch gaming". I was very upset about the lack of capitalization, as that's not how I entered it, but I soon very happily discovered that I could rename the guild (an excellent feature, by the way). Problem is, when I renamed it to "Stitch", as "Stitch Gaming" apparently is considered the same as "stitch gaming" and threw an exception about the name already being taken, it reverted to "stitch".
I've tried it every day for over a week now and nothing's changed (not even with the new patch) so I wanted to file a report to see how this might be able to be resolved.
For the record, the UI retains the casing after pressing "Save", but if you look at your system messages, you'll see the name change be lowercase regardless.
Thanks in advance for any and all attention to this matter, and if there is just something that I'm doing wrong, please enlighten me.
Guild renaming is free, yes, but the name being taken is not the issue. The issue is that no matter what you type in for a name (e.g. MyCoolGuild, The Guild, or eLiTeHaX0rZ) you will end up with the guild name in all lowercase (e.g. mycoolguild, the guild, and elitehax0rz).
Comments
Maybe you could try renaming it to "Xtitch Xaming"
..and step two, renaming it to "Stitch Gaming"
That'd defeat the "name already taken" test.
(Unless someone forms the exact same guild name between steps)
