We DCs are annoyed by many things. But we can live with them.
We can live with flawed divinity mechanic that is a gread idea but badly designed (seriously, getting divinity only by dealing damage is like regaining stealth only by healing allies).
We already got used to the fact that we have one and a half of skill that can actually heal.
We can live with our buffs that look like omg lolz i can reduce damage you take by 6% you wont see it but i can really do that.
We accept that we can't heal ourselves as effectively as other people with no advantages given to us as a reward.
We just keep quiet and try to not hit the walls with our heads when we see nth item for DC with life steal and armor penetration stat (seriously, we can't heal ourselves and we got awesome dps, we need that life steal).
We don't care about secret features like Forgemaster's Flame always hitting the add that is about to die (I bet you noticed it).
And I could go on and go on about our single target heals being a lot weaker than aoe heals in raw heal et cetera.
But I will ask just for one thing.
That one question.
WHY WE CAN'T SEE ALLIES THROUGH ALL THESE GAZILLIONS OF ADDS?
Really, how many times I couldn't save someone because I simply didn't know where he is because he was swarmed by golems. Or something. I can't simply keep the track of everybody when I'm kiting myself a parade.
I even can justify getting it. Righteousness description: "You sacrificed some of your ability to heal yourself and you have been blessed with better possibility to help others"
Theres otpions to allow party health bars always showing up, not only when u mouse hover them so that way u will always know where u party members are and is also easier to heal them with targeting spells such healing word.
U can configure the bars the way u want, health bars from friends always showing, enemie health bars only show when mouse hover, enemies health bar never show, etc, etc, etc....
When i start to play the game that was the first thing i search playing as DC, it is rly a game changer.
I set my party and enemy player health bars to always show, and set names to target only. That way I can see everyone's health, and I know when I am actually targeting them because their name will show up. This is the best way I've figured out to do it. (I use the exact opposite approach for enemies: always show names, health bar only on target.)
There's no greater critic of the DC than myself - currently not playing this class, - however there's a couple of points you make that need adjusting.
You can get Divinity from other skills other than damage. A class skill, Divine Fortune, builds Divinity from non-damaging powers.
Single target heals - well maybe you wrote this before the AC path came out, but if you spec into that and put Exalted on your target they should do just fine.
However, you did say you could live with Righteousness - that is where we differ.....and the reason I've switched.
...............vote for your favourite expansion.......... "Mod 6. Oh my f****** god. It gutted the game pure and simple. And what wasn't gutted was messed up by the poorly thought out new level cap and equip. The game never recovered from that atrocity". ..............not this one then.............

Thats very generous of Cryptic to give us a possibility to waste one class feature slot for getting something we should be getting anyway.

I'm running AC and I find Exalt very overrated both in PvE and PvP. The only place where I use it and it works wonder is Valindra tower. It gives heal that is 3x weaker than Healing Word, gives 10% damage reduction which is very low for a single target spell, has awful cooldown (won't check it now but I remember it's similiar to AS ones) and using it properly in divine mode requires some sort of 6th sense, because ideally you want to put it on someone who is about to receive nice damage. Generally if you try to do that you'll find yourself putting it on people who will dodge the attack half second later anyway. And you have to lose either AoE divinity generator or a spell that is actually a healing one.
However, you did say you could live with Righteousness - that is where we differ.....and the reason I've switched.
You have heals on demand, you don't interact with adds as much as other classes, and your best healing spells aren't affected by it. I already found many things that are far more annoying than healing debuff which actually isn't making the class unplayable.

That's very helpful, yes. But if they had a glow like people that are incapacitated, it would make gameplay even less frustrating. Especially that DC is designed as a leader class that should always know where his party members are.
I am really good at targeting my exaltation at every class except hr. Hr's have a tendency of hopping around like a bunny all over the place and I sometimes cant scroll my screen fast enough to keep up with them - and no its not a scrolling speed issue - it's an issue of figuring just where the heck there are going since some of their jumps are made with adhd like decision making....

Reminds me of other games where people are constantly running out of line-of-sight. Sometimes players have to work with their healers or they suffer.

Exaltation's targeting is strangely unforgiving compared to that of, say, Healing Word. HW doesn't usually care so much if your target teleports, shifts, or whatnot, but it's very easy to juke Exaltation by accident simply by using a movement ability as it's cast.

None of the skills the DC has make it unplayable otherwise you'd never find one in the game. But I am fundamentally against the idea of a healer getting penalized for healing. And it is a healing class - check the tool tips on many of the DC skills - "heals the target for HAMSTER..., or heals your allies ..." etc etc. It's a healing class.
Righteousness? - You may as well say that the tank protects allies, but has a penalty when using a self protection skill.
I just consider the idea of a healing penalty for a healer to be sheer idiocy. There should be other ways of sorting the DC skills out - and many of them do need sorting out, some of the DC skills remain like unwanted guests in the skill tree and will be forever ignored until they are changed.

Healing penalty for a healer is a idiocy. Like regaining divinity by dealing damage. Since when hurting somebody makes you more divine? Like making single target spells weaker than aoe ones. AoE better by definition, and here aoe skills have much more advantages. Many things in this game are made without any logic and just for lulz and Righteousness has at least some reasoning behind it. Even if it is a dumb reasoning, it's still one. I don't see any reasoning for a feat that increases a stat by 0.5% of it.

I do feel you guys though. 40% is silly.
