Windows 8/Neverwinter & Firewall Question

Hello, a friend of mine had recently tried to play Neverwinter, and he's logged in/been playing, however he's told me he has to play with his firewall disabled, or it will not let him play. He uses a Windows 8 computer. (Im on 7, so I don't know much about 8 myself).

Does anyone have any suggestions for this/anyone else having problems with this?

    See if the firewall is blocking NW. If it is, make it so that it will allow NW through the firewall. I'm using Win8 and i had no problems with it and i got a couple of friends who play on it as well without any problems

    ;-; I can run NW without firewall issues .... more my problem is that he is with the FPS too low for those who use an Athlon II X2 270 3.4 Ghz (multi-core), GTX 550ti, 6GB RAM ... I have friends with settings much worse than mine and they can play quietly, unlike me. More though, I use windows 8 pro 64bit .. Can it be the S.O? For Windows 8 is the latest trend and just update and improve ... I think a game like this, with so much respect and so many players fixed should have a better compatibility support for S.O Windows ;-;

    i have also some issues with win 8... i was running NW on win7 without ever having crashes, but now my game is crashing every five minutes on win 8, anyone with same problems?
