Hello ,

I just hit 60 today with my Hunter Ranger , specced him full buffer /nature/ and went in Gauntlgrym.

Guess what , my buffs did not affect nearby GG (raid?) members , they ONLY affected me & the 4 people showing in my party if they were in range.

So I felt pretty much useless because its impossible to follow the 4 other people in my party in a PuG and I contributed nothing into the big zerg fests.

Is this intended?

Running a ranger like a druid will be very hard to do in general. And yes the buffs only affect party members.

Oh well, you're still useful for buffing people in the dungeons, I guess.

Personaly I run archery. And even combat is viable. But save that kind of playstyle then druid comes out, its rumored to be next class

Seems like a bug to me. Unless I'm mistaken, DC abilities like astral shield affect all your allies. Not just your party members.

Astral goes on the ground though. ITs not just a buff

Well, I can't claim to know how it is programmed, but astral shield definitely has some friend-or-foe detection to determine who gets affected. I mostly thought about that one since it's easy to see if you've been affected by it (because of the regeneration effect). Not sure how other buffs usually work outside a party. I do know that in some areas (like Protector's Enclave) all players are affected by buffing powers. Maybe it's different in other areas...

There are abilities, that affect party members, and those are considered AoE. So, Hallowed Ground, Astral Shield, Divine Armor, etc are AoE. Into the Fray, reworked Battle Fury, TR's crit feat in executioner tree etc. and all HR's buffs are party buffs.
M6 almost drains your soul given how boring it is. (c) joocycuzzzzzz

Okay, when you explain it that way it makes sense. Thanks! :)

Oh well I guess then the Nature tree is useless in Gauntlgrym and future places that include more than 5 people

That or warlock, my radars say. Who knows though, honestly. Maybe they'll start putting in information to be data mined in a month or two =P.
    contents to be decided

I still think its more than viable, 30% dmg reduction, possible regeneration, a charge/ knockdown, 10% temp hp and a free dodge every 8-10 secs...all while STILL doing good damage. PvP groups live on battle support and the Ranger gives it in spades.
