Looking at how many toons are running around PE with no pants on, (especially female rangers for some reason o.0) it's obvious the devs need to implement this.
.............And, more importantly to me, wish we could disable weapon/armor enchantment effects....
yes- ^This^. Me too. I transmuted my Orb to look like an old spellbook and looked cool till I tossed a vorp into it... now it glows like it's powered by a flux capacitor. Never really dug it. Effects are cool on some things, Like flaming sword effect.. or lightning sword effect... stuff like that. But I'd like my plain, subtle, dusty old Tome to not look radioactive anymore.

Hold on now! Le's not be too hasty about this. If you get a fast enough mount that can run at over 88 mph and a Thunderhead armor enchantment that can generate 1.21 gigawatts of electrical power, you can then go back in time and kill Valindra before she could become a lich.
I hate dancing with Lady Luck. She always steps on my toes.
Disabling weapon effects in PvE should be fine - in PvP it could lead to issues....
There wouldn't be any issues at all. You can't see if someone has Azure enchantments or Dark enchantments slotted either. You don't see which abilities someone has slotted. When you 1v1 a GWF you don't know if he has stuff to knock you down or not. You have to be ready for anything that comes. So why do you need to see if someone has a Terror or Vorpal enchantment?
I agree, also armor auras go right to the fashion items at least let us turn THOSE off,
also id love the ability mix armor and fashion. my suggestion is if the fashion slot is empty it has the option to show the non hidden armor under it. especially since the only capes are armor. id love to see a back slot that you could put capes in (assuming the chest bit doesn't have a back part)
and you can see the bra through the back of the wedding top.
Weapon/Armor enchants do need a 'Disable Visuals' as well. I've read people complaining about bark and briar, and I've noticed that when I slipped a Terror Enchant on my HR's bow, it turns it almost black, not much point having highly detailed and colorful weapons/armor when they are hidden/obscured by enchants.

I'm going to chime in here and agree that Armor enchants at least need a disable visual. I dyed my armour white and silver but with the souleforged all I see is a black cloud moving up and down the armour. I want my white armour to show!

How about this? When out of combat, weapon and armor enchantments are disabled. Basically, in PnP, most flashy enchanted weapons can be turned on or off at will. For example, the Flaming Weapon enchantment from the Player's Handbook allows the wielder to light up his weapon to deal fire damage, or to extinguish the flame to sneak around unobtrusively and to generally not pose a threat to the city guards with a big flaming sword. To take it one step further, walking around town with a Plaguefire Weapon enchantment activated is like carrying a glowing radioactive weapon in the real world; Plaguefire weapons are not only on fire, they're also tainted by the magical version of radiation, which scars and deforms its victims.
Perhaps make it a toggle option, like, "Disable Enchantment When Out of Combat," similar to the "Disable Visuals" option. Enchantments need to be visible in combat so other players can tell what enchantments your character is using.
How about this. Make it so we can disable visuals on enchants and just tell the PvPers to stop QQing about such BS notions as "not being able to see which enchantment someone using will make PvP harder"
First of all I can wear fashions to hide my armor which will also hide my weapon (while out of combat) so you have no idea if Im wearing greens, blues, purple, T1 or T2 gear. You also cant tell which level enchants I have slotted. So to sit there and pretend that not knowing if I have Vorpal and soulforge or some other combo slotted will be game breaking is just a bunch of bull****.
PvP isn't supposed to be easy (at least that's what most PvPer's say) so adding such a minor inconvenience as not being able to tell which enchants I have would in no way be game breaking.

Taking a break from Neverwinter indefinitely...
