I love NW Gateway. It's a wonderful way to check the AH, work professions, and check my mail. The new sound effects, however, are very annoying. It was fine beforehand.
You can turn them off (though you need to do it each time you log into it), there's a toggle just under the character refresh, though you might need to force-refresh (control-shift-R on my browser) to see it.

I turn my speakers off
Did you really think anyone could steal the power of the god of thieves?

Thoughts?
+1 to this!
I have to turn off the sound every time I check in the Gateway:(
'Wen considered the nature of time and understood that the universe is, instant by instant, recreated anew. Therefore, he understood, there is in truth no past, only a memory of the past. Blink your eyes, and the world you see next did not exist when you closed them. Therefore, he said, the only appropriate state of the mind is surprise. The only appropriate state of the heart is joy. The sky you see now, you have never seen before. The perfect moment is now. Be glad of it.' Terry Pratchet The Thief Of Time

I don't mind the button clicky sounds. However, the sound effects you get every time your cursor passes in and out of different objects on the page is just crazy annoying.

I don't like the new sounds either. Especially when I'm checking the Gateway at 1am, haha. Or when I'm trying to listen to my own music while using the Gateway. Being able to turn them off is fine and works per session, but my general opinion is that sound in situations like this should always default to OFF instead of ON.
Audio cue sounds while I'm changing tasks on the Gateway adds nothing for me...but then I'm the sort who turns off 99% of the notification noises of any O/S and software.

I don't mind having to turn it off. But I shouldn't have to do it everytime I log in to the Gateway.

make it remember the mute status, and this will fix the problem.
