Is constant crashing (out of the blue) Normal???

Hope someone can help me out. I have been playing Neverwinter since Open Beta time period and for the most part, I really like this game. I have had a few issues here and there but for the most part the game is a decent game and I enjoy playing it.
So I had something new and unpleasant happen this evening as I was wandering around Sharandar, bopping portal hounds on the nose. (Quest name "Calm and Assertive) I came up to my first portal and proceeded to fight the enemies. Defeated them (like I have every other time I've done this daily) and noticed that a piece of meat was on the ground BUT I was still getting the message to press "F" to place the bait and wait for the hound. I figured...why not, the game says it's okay so I'll try it. *smh*
I placed the bait and waited, but no portal hound came out. I checked my chars inventory and yes there was only 2 pieces of bait left (from the 3 originally given by the quest giver). After waiting about 15-20 seconds, I proceeded to have my char run circles on the "dirt" in front of the den. No more than 2 laps around on the dirt the client crashed to desktop. I filled in the error ticket request and reloaded the game and had the launcher check the files. I tried starting up the game and lo and behold, The game gets to the Sharandar loading screen and crashes to desktop. I have since tried 4 more times to get in game.
I've restarted my comp. I've run CCleaner. I've ranted at my comp. Nothing seems to be working.
Can anyone help me? I will have 7/7 Celestial coins tomorrow and would really like to have a try at a coffer.

Quick update though-I was able to get in the game in Safe mode (only) this morning. I don't know if the daily reset for quests helped to shake my char "loose" or what-not but I dropped the bugged quest, did another daily in Sharandar and was able to re-pick the quest and complete it with no other issue.
Oy! the game is VERY ugly in Safe mode!
