I've noticed some strangeness in the way scoring happens in PvP.
1.) My team could be ahead in Points, but still have a losing score.
2.) My team could be ahead in Kills and Assists, but still have a losing score.
Many times I've noticed in the beginning of the match, we'll capture 2 nodes, then do a large battle on the center node. We kill the whole team, sometimes 2 or 3 kills on guys that come back after dying, and we still have a losing score.
Has anyone else noticed this with their experience in PvP?
the point systems, to my knowledge, are not tied together. meaning that my personal pvp score comprised of cap bonuses, kills, assists are not tied to the match score. the match score is accumulated over time based on capping nodes. the longer your team has nodes captured , the faster your points accumulate. it's not "domination" as in dominate your opponent in the number of kills, it's domination of the nodes.
a higher score will give more glory though. you could end up capping one node and defend it, make you party win but since you haven't recapped it you end up with poor score in the end and low glory. somtimes it is no bad idea to let other cap so you can recap.
Personal score is not tied directly to winning or losing.
You get points for kills & assists, but you get the biggest points (300 each) for capping flags (meaning you have to be standing on the circle at the time that it caps). So if you assisting a flag capture, but run to the next point prior to the flag turn completing you don't get the 300 points. Sometimes it is best to avoid the 300 personal points in order to put pressure on another point sooner (when you have team mates completing the cap).
So if it aint bugged then tell me why each time I have been in pvp in the past 6 months and weather or not i had the highest score or not i have got ZERO yes ZERO glory
OP never mentioned that but, err yah I think something for you is bugged. Never experienced that. Ive gotten zero glory when my pug team utterly fails, I think Ive gotten 0 glory when the other pug team utterly fails (never caps either way).
1 - You need 375 (or 400) Personal Score to qualify for rewards (Glory) at end of game. If you do not reach the 375 score you get 0 rewards. This is the "anti-bot / AFK" system.
2 - Your team is awarded 1 point per second for each node that is capped in your favor and not contested. This means as long as you have the point capped and an enemy is not standing on it, you get 1 point per second. (Per node) So 3 CAP = 3 Points per second.
3 - First team to reach 1000 Points wins the game.
4 - Personal Score: Only gives you a little more glory than the others players the higher your personal score is. DO NOT Worry about your personal score other than getting 375. Winning the game gives a lot more glory than losing.
5 - Personal Score: 300 Personal Score for Capping a nod. 50 for landing the last blow. 25 for assist. There are Bonus 100 & 50 for killing / assisting in the kill of an enemy on a node.
That pretty much sums it up.

This is a typical Newbie PvP result. PvP in this game is based on capturing and holding the three nodes, NOT the number of kills/assists generated.
Point scoring has been previously stated so, new pvp'ers must learn HOW to adjust and react to what the other team is doing. Not stand on point two waiting for opponents to kill. Typical pvp mistake for new players.
I have been in many a pug group, versus a guild group and all the guild group does is stand on pt two with their clerics jumping up and down thinking they've done something. While loosing the match 1000 - 400 is great for my pug group, it's kinda sad to see a full guild group with absolutely no clue.
Most of the hatred towards pvp'ers is the simple fact, most pvp guild simply understand how to play.

this is something i'd screencap and send in on the support page.

On my TR I often make the #1-2 spot in score even when my team fails, as noted points are awarded for kills, defending points, and capturing points and the scoreboard is not tied to winning. Aka If you capture a point you get 300 points and if you make a kill you get 50 points, but that's a separate score from the team score that determines win or loss which is 100% holding points/objectives on the map. Side note but do you happen to be a DC? I gave up on playing my DC in this game because of the -40% heal debuff combined with no points for healing and how squishy the DC is unless you spec a specific race with specific gear.
You might be getting lower than the 400 points needed to get glory as others have mentioned, which is easy to do on a DC that is not specced specifically for high survivability and backed by a competent team as you are less than 0 as a solo DC in PVP, you become a dummy that allows the enemy to build action points if you run alone or try to capture points solo unless the other team is asleep at the wheel.
don`t listen to some here, they think to know how the score thing works, like more reward for your personal score.
that isn`t true ofcourse.
the only thing that counts is 1000 points bar.
and the time a game lasts with a cap on 15 min.
for max reward just let a game take 15 min.
handy if the other team is way worse, you just go sit back and relax, waste the other teams time, because wintime is double reward vs the losetime.
nothing else matter.
handy to know while leveling.
at max lvl it isn`t that important ofcourse since there are no real rewards there.
you can trust in that ;p have 27 chars and done loads of pvp and wrote down the rewards and time.
right after the first fail reward system i noticed it was played time in pvp what`s all that matters.
it was also officialy announced that winning fast will give you less reward, well this is how they done it ;p
timebased rewards.
