disparity on zen/Ad exchange

So does Cryptic skim out something in the middle of these transactions or am i missing something? I say this because if i look at the lowest price for AD to exchange for zen, it is always much lower than the lowest rate you can exchange zen for AD. Shouldn't there be an overlap?

If i post zen for sale at 375 per, should i net see a post in the ad exchange that says there is zen available at that price?

There seems to be a disconnect of about 10 to 15 of the currency you seek, or I am missing something? my assumption is cryptic is take a cut somewhere.

There's no reason for the exchange to be equal - those prices are just based on what players are willing to post. Either they want to make a better trade (so they post at a slightly higher rate), or the lots of AD & Zen that are posted at costs closer to an equal rate are snapped up immediately (because they're good deals).

From what i can see there seems to be a 5 AD difference per unit, but there is a big difference between requested and available amounts as well.

It might be possible that the top request you see are just player putting in a request at that unit price and hope it fills in soon...

It's just spread -- nothing nefarious here, it's just how markets tend to work.

There should never be an overlap in zen or AD prices displayed in the zen/AD exchange, as any such overlapping contracts would be instantly filled. There's going to be a gap because zen sellers want to get more AD for their zen, and zen buyers want to get more zen for their AD.

I haven't used the exchange yet, but I know in the gold market in PWI there's a 2% transaction fee for each contract posted; I wouldn't be surprised if the same holds true here. (Cuts down on people churning contracts to play the market.)

There will never be a match between Offer and Bid (or at least not long enough to see it in almost any scenario) because by definition that means a completed transaction.

The spread is actually around 2 AD most of the time. To see the real spread, you need to understand what the listings mean and re-order them accordingly.

For example, the "Buy Zen" tab shows listings of Offers, i.e. actual real Zen in the system. To get the best price to buy, you need to sort the "Unit Price" column so that the lowest price is at the top.

Conversely, the "Sell Zen" tab shows listings of Bids, i.e. requests for Zen in the system (not actual Zen). To get the best price to sell, you need to sort the "Offered Unit Price" column so that the highest price is at the top.

The spread is equal to the difference between the current best price to buy and best price to sell as explained above.

There are no transaction fees in the Zen-AD exchange of this game.

Is going to be any control over this market? The big web sellers have to much power over the AD-Zen market. Right now you must pay over 400 AD per zen, when the normal rate used to be around 300, 350 on weekends and when there are a lot of people. I remember it costed just 200-250 in the beginning, probably before the web sellers came. Can you just reset prices once a week or once a month?
I think it's crazy to pay 400 Ad/zen, it's too difficult to get enough AD to pay campaign stuff, identify scrolls, expensive trade market equipment, and after this you cannot buy zen, there is not enough

the zen/ad rate always gets higher when there is a new item or big sale on dyes/fashion cause everyone is converting their ad to get the best rate. then it slowly drifts down. Events USED to bring the zen/ad rate down significantly cause people would buy point cards and convert zen to ad to buy pets/mounts/dyes that were BOE that they missed due to lack of luck.

The increase in BOP Items is keeping the zen/AD rate abnormally high which is most likely discouraging people purchasing things with zen as well as the lockbox keys because you can not make a profit on resale if the exchange rate is to high. I know I only buy lockbox keys when the rate makes the bulk key around 30-40kad needless to say ive not bought a key in ages.

the increased reliance on BOP during events has made me much more reluctant to buy anything. also my inventory is getting to full for me to buy more mounts/costume sets if we had a tab for costumes or they were BOA so that I wouldn't have "wasted" outfits id be much more likely to buy more point cards to get more sets.
