"Aribeth's Second Betrayal (BETA)" - New Author's Best Shot

edited November 2013 in Foundry Quest Database
Hello,

this is a story-focused foundry mixed with with a satisfactory amount of combat. Investigating the area thoroughly can give you the choice between two different endings (including two different end bosses).

I want as much feedback as possible: bugs, advice, typos... since my English isn't that good, I'll need your help. :)

The foundry system doesn't really support "full" alternate endings, but I still found I way to make it "full alternate" (even delivering the quest at the end).

ID: NW - DHB8ZOZDB

Recommended comp: solo
Average duration: 15 - 20 min

Description:

After being resurrected in Neverwinter, and hereby separated from her spouse, Aribeth de Tylmarande comes into conflict with the Lord. Being mad at Neverwinter, she decides to leave it once and for all and start a new life. But shortly after leaving, she goes missing. Her friend, Alrica Fenta, is looking for her. Now, 10 years after Aribeth's disappearance, Alrica finally has a clue where to look. She sends you on a mission to find Aribeth and bring her back to Neverwinter.

In this foundry you will discover never before seen areas, and you will ally with your enemies to fight an even bigger threat to Neverwinter.
This foundry has an ALTERNATE ENDING. If you follow all the clues (including those that are not part of the mandatory quest milestones) and investigate the area thoroughly, you can trigger a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ENDING.

Depending on your Class Skill (Dungeoneering, Arcana, Religion, Thievery), you can get different (further) clues and hints on what happened to Aribeth.

I had to remove most of the content from "Castle Never - Crypt" because of THIS. I hope that this foundry will end up at an average 15 - 20 min playtime, so that it will be a good alternative for the dailies.

Lady Aribeth de Tylmarande was my favorite character in the whole D&D/Neverwinter series, but even if you've never played the Neverwinter Nights 1 Campaign, you will enjoy this foundry. It is not bound to the events in NWN.

I hope to get as many (honest) reviews as possible in order to gauge this foundry and make it perfect!

Thank you!

Oooh, I loved Aribeth! Your voice actress is actually in Sharandar, the first area, if you have a keen ear. Very excited to play this, Mel. Thanks for putting it together.

I knew that voice sounded familiar!

    Great foundry!
after few runs (that were not too hard for a DC) I've found the ring :D
I have only 2 little requests....
    1. Could you move the sphere chest 1 step away from the Xivros barrier? Its easy to click the barrier instead of the chest as it is now.
    2. The summoining crystal.... If the help would be avilable for any class I as a cleric would feel better :D (If you can't throw it away).

P.S. Thank you for reviving my foundry :)

I had to implement the crystal since raging DCs started downvoting my quest. I also got messages that some DCs were not able to complete this foundry at all. This didn't happen to any other class.

The crystal can only be seen by DCs and you have a dialog option to decline the help. Also, it isn't a quest objective, so that you can just ignore it at all. :)

    Thank you for your feedback!

Yes I understand your motives. But still as a cleric I feel insulted by the fact someone dumbed the difficulty down for my class.
Those raging downvoters you mentioned were (few deep breaths, searching for words that won't be filtered....) wrong (pvp specced maybe? trying to kill mobs with AS, healing word and sunburst?), your foundry was good just the way it was, you should just ignore those noo.... ekm... them.

Aribeth is a villain again? Can't she get redemption? I know it sounds bad after you did all that hard work, but I just like the character.

Well, actually - no. I don't want to spoil the foundry. You can always send me a message to discuss Aribeth. :p
But I don't really see her as a villain here, although the player is free to declare her one.

P.S.: If you like Aribeth, go for the alternative ending. :p

Awesome foundry, great story, loved the CN exploit references! Never imagined how it would be to fight on Valindra's side against all the exploiters.
