Dyes for companions?

Hello!

Was wondering all the time, why can't we use our dyes on the companions? ;P I know it won't improve them but still, some cosmetic changes would be cool ^^

I second that. Sometimes, just having a look outside the auction house makes you think the Clone Wars have started, with all the very same priestess in the same outfit and same dye and same hair, down to the same scar on the eye, replicated dozens of time. Scary. And i'd love to make them a bit "custom", even if just for the pleasure of the eyes.

And, of course, I want the Death God Acolyte fixed...

I would love that along with more customization (the ability to change their appearance like in STO) the ability, to completely gear them (like in STO) and for our humanoid companions to have mounts.

I just can't fathom why they skimped so much on the companions in this game....it's very uncryptic like.

It would be pretty cool to choose from a select amount of skins and genders when buying them, nothing as advanced as the character creator(...but that would be cool too). And an option for "custom" outfits. On your adventures while collecting different types of armor that your character cannot use, but clearly your companion would love, why not let them wear it?

For the animals...maybe different breeds? Not sure what the advanced "outfits" for them are or if they even get any.

I agree. I was just thinking about that earlier. I realize that changing the actual armor progression models for them might be difficult, but being able to apply dye, without changing the models would be very cool

I sorta want to make a character that looks exactly like my companion.. Though I often wish that the companions were more partners, than just sidekicks (Like, rolling two characters)

I would love to be able to apply dye to our companions - even if it is limited to just their clothing/saddles/armor...

I agree with this, I'd also like there to be a heads up on the gender of the companion you buy or find. I got a Men-at-arms (I think that was it's name) a great weapon fighter, and of course had to name it before binding it. Turns out it was a female companion, which in and of itself is fine, but I named it Logan. I would have used a different name if I had known it was female.

Same reason we cannot skin/dye our mounts... what ever that reason/justification is.

It would be cool to be able to, here's hoping for a future patch.

it would be cool if mounts had changeable skins. zen mounts could have different armor sets you could buy for anywhere from 200-500z... not sure how feasible that would be. but it would be kinda cool.

Does she have a greatsword? If so its the Sellsword. The Man at Arms is male. My friend did the same thing with her Sellsword, gave her a male name.

There is a heads-up. When you are talking to the guy during that companion quest you can ask him about each one, and he uses 'he' for the fighter and wizard, and 'she' for the cleric.

The sellsword is not one of those initial offerings, though, and I don't recall if there is a heads-up on her in the game.

I suggested some time back that they should just have all of them standing around in the grand emporium with their companion name visible over their head if they did nothing else.

    =======================================

As far as what else they could do, though, there is plenty.

More skins- Black, white, male, female, different hair styles and colors.... I'm fine with them having a specific race. Heck, push comes to shove I am okay with specific genders.

But why can't they at least have three basic options for a companion to choose from? I am not saying that I could change my companion's appearance constantly, I just mean that when I go to pick a man-at-arms show me a picture of three different guys and let me pick which one I want.
After that I can choose between the four variations of appearance based on level.

At a minimum offer up some skins for a small price that would achieve this.

Maybe man-at-arms could have a simple (and fairly cheap) skin that alters his face/hair/skin color for one price, or for a higher price he could be transformed into an axe-wielding dwarven shield maiden.

I knew about the "he/she" convo during the companion quest, but as you say, the sell-sword is not a part of that. I like your idea of having one of each companion standing around the Grand Emporium, so you can window shop, as it were.
I also would like them to show the upper limit of level that your companion has. Be it 15; 20; 25 or 30. I never can remember what level is what via their colors. Just add a line in it's info pop-up box that states: Max level = 15. not that hard to do I would think.

And this may be getting even farther off topic then I've already gone.... But I found one of those spider-gal companions and in it's info box it says that it has a look unique to that companion. However, all the other spider-gals I see running around all look the same. What's up with that??

The Sellsword is female. There is what appears to be the cleric, man at arms, and wayward wizard IN the Grand Emporium, wearing their level 20 clothing.

I have asked for this in the past, and agree completely.

Having your Companions wear your Organizations Livery and Colors, as was common during the Middle Ages, and is common in the Forgotten Realms, would just make it that much better.

Being able to do the same with your mounts saddle, bridle, armor and other trapping would be awesome too.

The Gender, and Race options for each companion would be cool too.

If you could transmute equipment to items you find, would be awesome too.

Imagine the amount of money they would make on dyes alone.
