Best class for Leveling/Farming quickly.

I am going to new here. Figured I would finally try out NeverWinter.

I would like to know which class & race combination is decent for quick leveling and farming. I prefer to Solo, since I am not that sociable within games when I first start off.

I heard Rogues are.

I am tempted to pick between Rogues and Guardian Fighters.

For speed and if your new, then you want to go Tr (Rogue)

Newby friendly and good dps along with the obvious stealth to avoid plenty of HAMSTER when you need to.

i don t know the rouge, i have a dc, a gf, a cw and a gwf. Imo gwf with a cleric companion is the best for levelling fast, because of tankiness, damage and run. A gf can't run and a cw is squishy for certaint situations (probably i m not the best cw :). Yes rouge can go in stealth in some points so can dodge enemies during the travelling. So finally is your choice between theese 2 class but... This is an mmo, why d u wanna play in solo? Ok for levelling, but i think the best fun in theese game is to have a guild and some friends with spending ur time.

Rogues are easy to level but they require some skill at the end because they're very squishy, so if you mess up your rotation, especially if you're stealth based, you're toasted. I'd recommend GWF, especially because they're getting buffed. You'll do a load of AoE damage and it's easy with a cleric companion.

not realy a question with a certain answer to be honest, everybody plays differently, everybody enjoys a different type of class.

Lvling is pretty fast in this game, you can get to lvl 5 in less than 30 mins, which gives you a basic idea of how the class works. roll a few and try them all at least to lvl 5, i would advise going to lvl 10 realy and getting into the first questing zone when you will start to get a real feel for the class and if you like it or not.

Most importantly dont roll a class just because everybody says it is the best, Play something because you enjoy playing it.

I would go with either CW or GWF. Both have AOE and single target attacks throughout the game. The wizard has more attack strength but less defense - best if you like or don't mind dodging and planning attacks. The GWF doesn't do as much damage but is much tougher in a fight. Only real headache is that the first AOE at will is rather poor. Ditch it for Wicked Strike as soon as you can.

Otherwise, the rogue isn't bad for solo but from midlevel until you get smoke bomb, it can be a pain fighting groups. GF suffers from low damage output until high level (assuming you pick an offensive path) which makes the solo boss fights a real pain. I never tried soloing my DC while leveling.

    CW.

Rogue seems the best at soloing at the very early game. After level 10 (when CW can put Chill Strike in Tab) they take over. CWs own soloing from that point on with the ability to blast whole groups at a time and from a distance.

GF and GWF do ok once they hit 60 and equip some good gear. DC can do ok, but at the cost of focusing on skills you'd never use while healing in a group. At this point its tougher for TR because they are mostly single target. Just about everything comes in groups whether you solo or not. And as the other poster said, they are pretty squishy later on.

All of the above is just my opinion of course. And I'm sure how well you solo a class will be at least partially determined by how you want to play.

Rogues are easy until you hit the areas where monsters have a lot of AoE attacks (Pirates Skyhold, Vellosk and so it goes) because you can mostly kill one enemy at a time and you'll have to dodge too much stuff. What I mean is: you don't get hit, but it takes more time to take out large mobs and you'll need some patience. Either this or you'll burn a lot of pots and be out of stealth very frequently.

Wizard is squishy, but once you get used to dodging it's top dog for solo content, the mix of powerful AOE, good CC and option of powerful single target DPS makes it very versatile. After that I'd say a DPS specced Cleric...but you give up group synergy. GWF/GF arr about equal, GF is slower(the slowest class by a mile, in my experience) to level, but more forgiving if you mess up. TR...dunno, I invoked/profession leveled my TR to 45 then PvPed my way to L60.

Thanks everyone for the advice and opinions. I rather not roll multiple classes, I just want to pick one and stick to it for now.

    Faster level?
Cw, tr maybe gwf. But yeah you have to know how to play with a wizard.
    Faster farm?
    Tough one. Hard to tell.
    Cw, dc, tr maybe.

I think it mostly depend on your gameplay preference, you can go quite fast with every class when you like their play style.

Can the Control Wizard absorb decent damage? (TANK)

I love the concept of the Control Wizard and I love the animations, but I dislike being squishy. And Guardian Fighter seems boring.

    Any advice/suggestions?

No. Playing solo a CW kills mobs of stuff before it ever reaches him. -OR- They can also focus on CC and stop everything from doing damage. Only classes that can really tank (even solo) are GF and GWF.

Is 3 Heroic Feats better than 2 Extra Stats?

This is personal preference, but yes, I like having 3 extra heroic feats.
