Hello everyone :D

I have a request from Perfect World for Neverwinter, that will help roleplayers and not alike.

It is rather weird that we can only choose amongst a handful of deities, seeing as they make no impact to the game whatsoever, they're just an icon and some lore. It is ridiculous to have Drow without an option to worship Lolth or Vhaeraun, or Selvetarm. Cyric is also missing, as are lots and lots of other lesser gods.

Ideally, there should also be an option for worshipping no deity, with invoking becoming something like meditating...?

Same goes for hometowns, there is only one plane, and only the surface world at that. Why not the Underdark? Why not the Abyss or the Nine Hells for us demon- and devilspawn?

That was all, I hope I find the support I need here.

I agree by in large and have requested them to add additional gods for...ever.

    However, they are dead. :(

Vhaeraun was killed by Eilistraee in 1375 after he failed to assassinate her.
Selvetarm was killed in 1375 by Cavatina Xarann.

Both died during The War of the Spider Queen.
Sadly roughly half of the gods and exarchs you know in third edition were killed through the course of the spellplague events. Sucks. But true.

The worst part is that I have read the series...-.- I guess I just started spurting out god names without thinking of the timeline. Though Vhaeraun wasn't exactly "killed"... Anyway, my request stands strong, even without these gods I mentioned.

To be fair, there are all the dudes in Helm's Hold who still ostensibly worship Helm even though he's also dead....
Kerensa Loreweaver, level 60 DC | Rilla Turtledove, level 60 CW | Calvin Meriwether, level 60 TR
Kaylee Krankenwagen, level 60 GF | Tavandruil Wayfinder, level 49 GWF | Aldith Langley, level 51 HR

Apparently dead gods can return. Amaunator is one of the deities in NW, but as I recall in the original Baldur's Gate he was a dead/ forgotten god. One of the quests even released him to his death.
    Kildrak Gemviper - 60 GF
    Void Reaper - 60 CW
    Eliza Trickfoot - 60 TR
    Scarlet Maiden - 60 DC
    Timmy Orc-Bane - 60 GWF
    Ranger Jo - 20 HR

You could fight 'Bits' of Moander, a dead god, in Curse of the Azure Bonds. They were giant shambling mounds. The dev team forgot to make them immune to Charm Plant, which made the fight a lot easier. (there were three in the fight. I charmed one which tied up another one until I was finished killing the third.)

    I agree.

Do I want more dieties? Sure, as long as it is within reason.
I always felt that 3.X FR had a stupidly high number of dieties, so any thinning of the herd is okay by me, but what made it to the game felt pretty sparse. Especially when a citizen thanks Ilmater, and you aren't allowed as a character to have him as a patron.

    Same with locations and backgrounds.

Because while I know that it takes time to get this stuff into the game, it's not like a new class or a dungeon or something of that sort.
It's a name, a bit of art, some flavor text, and maybe a spot on the map.

I don't care about evil dieties, and wouldn't expect to see them included, but there are still plenty of good and unaligned patron options out there.

The inclusion of the evil deities would not be a bad thing for those that wish to play evil characters. Of course it would be nice if the Devs gave a purpose to having a deity for your character. There are a number of "dead" gods in the lore, and the pantheons are about to be shaken up once again with "The Sundering". So it may be a wise thing for the Devs to wait until that has all been worked out before including more gods in the game.

4e Warlocks have an option to draw power from "vestiges" of dead gods and primordials. Would be fun to have something like that for clerics too.

But Lolth still alive and she much powerful than ever.

yea and the plot in azure bonds was to res moldy, so dead or not, he could have been revived. That was a great plot/story game -- the whole series was pretty good, actually.

They really should put in alignment, allow evil characters, and tie that into the pvp scene.

Maybe, but that could backfire, too.
If there weren't enough evil (or good) players to queue up, then where are you?

And what about the story? Whatever else you might think of it, it really doesn't work well for an 'evil' character. You can try and justify it as working with the system to take out rivals until the time to strike arrives, but that is never going to happen; There is never going to be a time for your character to seperate themselves because the story doesn't allow for it.

It can be done. I am not saying that it can not happen.
I am just saying that the amount of work that I think it would take to get it done reasonably well doesn't make me think that it will happen.
