PvP earned Boons, bonus's etc

I don't need a reason to PvP. I don't need rewards or titles or justification to do so. Its the challenge of going up against another real thinking person that has attracted me to PvP for so many years.

However, I am not against rewards and other bonus's to PvP.

If you played EQ 1 you'll remember the AA farming. Its pretty much identical to the lamesauce Boons they gave us now, but on a much, much larger scale.

Instead of doing extremely boring, very lame, very specific quests to earn your Boons/AA's. It was just a leveling experience. Like say 1 AA point at lvl 60, would be the equivalent of leveling from 55-56.

I would like, LOVE, to see something like this for PvP, imagine the possibilities guys!

People have so many ridiculous(some not), complaints about PvP, our forums are constantly flooding with tears. This would give people a chance to Work for something, as well as build a character to combat many of these things. The possibilities are endless.

For what I am going for, these extra feats of course would only work in PvP.

An example of some things I was thinking about: % Resistance to Radiant Damage, Necrotic Damage, % to Damage Resistance, Deflect, Health, all Innate of course. Damage shields, Riposte %, % chance to stun on being struck, % chance to root on being struck.

Just a fiew ideas I was thinking of.

Of course there would have to be caps, and the Skill T would really have to be tested well as to not make someone completely unstoppable. Like not giving someone the option to have all of those defensive AA's, they would have to go A, B, or C for example.

To make it simple I spose this leveling process would have to be just spending Glory, like 15k glory for 1 point or something.

Thoughts?

    As great of an idea as this is, it would just give people another reason to complain.

    I really like this idea! In some ways I actually miss my AA farming from my EQ2 days. I think something like Warhammer onlines Renown Rank (RR) system would work just as well.

    Unlock specific PvP based gear depending on how high your RR was/ is. I remember back in WAR you knew the difference between someone in RR45 Gear and RR80 gear.

    There is alot that is possible. I don't think that just spending glory is the key though. I would love to have aa PvP level as well. Which is essentially what RR is. Make PvP kills mean something. I miss my Renown gathering.

    Make it temporary and it would be good, either top 100 player will have 10% increase on all stats for a week, and the next 500 would have 5% increase stats.

    But make it so that leaving PVP would get them nowhere, like, minus points for leaving the game, no penalty if you stay, and +++ if you win.. this has been suggested before but i guess it is not feasible for the devs.

    If im thrown out of PvP due DC, then i should every time kill my internet i want to leave out of penalty. Okay so im making. Thanks for this BS.

    Get a better ISP provider and stop downloading ____ while playing NW.. LOL.

    One command to my router and he restart. I leave the useless match and got no penalty instead of a button push. Penalty don't avoid me to leave any PvP-team anytime because i use every strategy to avoid the penalty itself.

    If you give out things that improve or change gameplay of course non-pvp'ers will want them too. So they will go to pvp just for the rewards.
    There should not be any reward for PvP, not even AD in it's current form, so no bots will PvP and no leavers/daily AD people will go there.

    So no reward will get the real PvP players together. No special boons/items/AD for playing PvP. If there is a reward in it, PvP will have the quitters etc. in it. PvP is for the fun! That is reward enough!

    Of course there should be rewards for pvp. It's part of the game content - every other aspect of the game content has an action for reward model. And pvp as it stands has a decent early reward - the gear you get that you can use for either more pvp (although it's surpassed by other sets for pvp), or to use as a starter set for epic dungeons.

    However after that point you're left with salvage, and the warm inner glow of getting/giving a facestomping (all with the best of sporting intentions old chap). And of course there are also the green (cough) and blue vendables you get for top rankings in the match.

    I agree that I'll continue doing pvp for the fun, but I wouldn't say no to some pvp based rewards along the lines that you suggest munkey81. Low impact, but enough to provide some extra interest and character differentiation. And effects would be restricted to pvp. Maybe glory based purchases of optional benefit paths, that can be respecced with glory. Or you could buy a pvp boon or two active for a limited time or number of matches. Or the ranking system as mentioned above. Hell even some purely cosmetic weirdness might be fun. That way you are actually making the reward less about AD and more about customizing the pvp experience itself - which means there'd be no additional motivation to run bots through pvp, and no additional compulsion on non-pvp focussed people to suffer through it just to get the benefits and get back to pve.

    Or a mount only useable in pvp, purchased with glory, to even the playing field for the cash strapped?
