Best race for DC?

So I am thinking about trying my hand at a DC. Which is the best race for a DC?

    Half-Orc for increased testosterone.

    Depends on what you want to do with your DC.

    For a PVE/PVP Healing DC, Human is probably the way to go. The extra feat points will let you max holy resolve, bountiful fortune, and still get a point in cleanse.

    For a DPS DC, I can see half-orc being viable for the crit severity bonus. The innate strength bonus helps with crit chance too. You'll generally be running vorpal with this sort of build, so more damage on crits only sweetens the deal.

    For a tanky PVP DC, halfing is pretty much the best choice. That 3% deflection (4% if you count the innate +2 DEX) and a helpful bonus to either con or charisma make it pretty attractive.

    Again, think about what you want to do with your DC - the class builds and feels quite different depending on what your endgame goals are.

    The answer is always Dwarf. Any build, any type of DC.

    Shouldn't that be "the short answer is dwarf"? ;)

    Anyway, unless you're going for uber-twinked PvP-focussed stuff (where any bleeding edge advantages are useful), it really doesn't matter much. Playstyle, stat and feat choices have a far greater influence on the final result.

    Pick what looks nicest to you.

    Sometimes in dungeons my pretty halfelf female cleric is almost invisible behind wall of mobs gathering around her. One GWF told me once that is my own fault, i should make a half-orc female cleric so it wouldnt be so attractive and mobs would leave me in peace ;)

    So my voice for halforc !

    Heey! Do not listen to this GWF racist! My halforc cleric is VERY pretty (I could bet no mob would even get close to you if she were there :p)
    Not as sexy as my tiefling cleric tho. I'm telling you, tieflings are the best. Not really good stats&race abilities, but the tail! Tail beats all :)

    But a Half-Orc doesn't smell that bad, and also is far from being that ugly as a orc can be :P
    So about that point: be fully orcish, with all around, 110% uglyness and smellaura.

    Tail + devilish horns beats all.
    Running a Tiefling DC too, love it.
    Beside of tail+horns, it's the twist of a devilish dark creature and a cleric that rules it more - love playing these twisted weird characters.
    Gotta repeat in my own words, but once on P&P round:
    "Heeyy my devilish, dark blooded, evil as f*, Tiefling mate!!" *raising alepot*
    some seconds turn around, the other Tiefling turns, starts his religious clerical stuff.
    "Arrgh, something went totally wrong with you."


    Just my generell opinion about race choosing...
    Play what you prefer by optical reasons, specially on your main character. You are the one who is seeing him/her for many many hours, while most others just rush somewhere around you.
    In Neverwinter its not that hard in my opinion with racial buffs. Some are may a bit better for this, some are better for that, in the end all classes can be rocking on any race since they all got their individual useful benefits (and some skill also ofcorse...).

    The best current race you can choose no matter what is Halfling. The next best would be either Human or Dwarf.

    Tiefling has some decent stats for dc. Can start with +2 constitution and charisma, infernal wrath reduces enemy damage a bit, and bloodhunt increases your damage, helps when finishing people off with punishing light.

    Human is the worst race for the DC. We don't have three extra heroic feats that are worth taking and +2 to some ability score is better than the defense. This is really just a matter of mechanics.

    I think Dwarf is the best race overall, but others might be better for a particular build. But absolutely, there is no build for which Human is the best choice.

    Agreed. If you are really going to min-max, then

    PvE: Dwarf - due to STR/CON or WIS/CON and DoT resistance.
    PvP: Halfing - due to hefty Deflect/CON bonuses, control resist and simply targetting/seeing small people in PvP.

    Personally, given what I know now after many months of playing the game since beta, that min-maxing is not necessary at all in PvE but makes a huge difference in even casual PvP specifically for the Cleric class, I would choose or advise Halfling for min-maxers for sure.

    It reminds me of other action combat games like Tera Online. The small races always win in the end! :)

    Epic beard, relevant feat bonuses and looking HAMSTER as a Cleric? Yes please.

    I've been fully into PvP with a dwarf and he is just amazing.

    Since you'll be seeing his/her butt all the time i'd recommend something with a nice butt, depending on your sexual orientation.

    Female tieflings happen to have a nice posterior, just fyi.
    And as for the males I think that male elves have the best one... haven't made any male halfling/half orc/dwarf/drow yet so idk bout them.
