I'd like if devs communicate with us about fixing bugs

I'd like if devps would open a thread in which communicate to us which bugs they are working on. Example:

We are working on:
- GF guard bugs (don't block cc): expected fix time 1 week.
- GF griffon wrath bug (cd not reduced by intelligence, recovery and fight on feat): expected fix time...
- GF dailies bug (sometimes all AP are used but the power is not used): expected fix time...
- GF Aggravating strike bug (don't proc any weapon enhancement and Iron guard): expected fix time...
- GF mark bug (sometimes mark goes away just after applied or after first hit)
- GF ....
- GF ....

and so on...

We are also working on:
- augment companions bugs: they don't transfer properly all the stats. expected fix time...
- guard meter duration: actually it last 1 second in every T2 dungeons, we are confident we will be able to improve its duration. expected fix time...

and so on...

I think it would be nice if devs let to know to the community on which bugs they are working on.

It would be nice. I also find it quite annoying when they fix some bugs or change some things and don't even put it in the patch notes.

It'd be nice to have more dev communication period.

STO's end-of-the-year update has eight blog posts dedicated to it, it's partly on the test shard, and they are posting daily about it on the forums. Over here, we don't even know for sure what class is coming next, or what the theme will be.

if there is a dev that has the time to maintain a thread like this, please raise your hand.

    *crickets*

the fact of the matter is this information is proprietary internal information that usually won't be made public because this list is dynamic and changes all the time based on work-load. it is usually contractual that devs cannot discuss things that they are working on in a public setting. bug fixes are already released as patch notes when they are fixed. you will never get a promised time frame for bug fixes. we, the community, have the ability to submit bug reports but the company has no requirement to provide you with a follow up on this report. because individually, devs do not have any control over what gets fixed when. and if they provided a list of "expected fix times" the community would lose their minds the moment that something didn't happen when they promised.

so... it'll never happen. nice pipe dream, tho.

    >>- guard meter duration: actually it last 1 second in every T2 dungeons, we are confident we will be able to improve its duration. expected fix time...<< This isn't a bug/fail of code. It's due to the strong attacks in T2 from the standard mobs. So it's a Mechanic Knowledge Issue here. Nothing was Devs interest.

I mention that what you say in the CC thread to know at what they work and if it work correctly or even not.
The devwork is okay, but in every case it still exist that it can be 1000 times better - natural destination.

I agree with the OP, but only if the game's (any game) devs are competent enough to know their own limits.

As well, if the devs (again, any game) are competent, show enough passion and professionalism to the game, and have VERY good damage control, even if a fluke or a nerf happens, the forum writers will not make such a big fuss, due to the devs' past positive deeds, and may even support the game more.

Otherwise, you will have bizarre players given ridiculous reasons to defend, like "due to the TOS..." or "the devs do not need to communicate because they are not supposed to..." etc etc...

while i can't make an absolute statement concerning devs in particular, i can state that it has been said that cryptic and pwe do read these forums.

so no one is preventing that from happening.

however most companies have a confidentiality clause concerning their employees and contracts.

the information that you're asking to have direct access to is internal and proprietary.

so unfortunately the only way you are going to get specific answers about bug fixes, future plans for new pvp maps, future plans for new classes, etc is through an official public news release.

when information is disseminated in this manner, it has been approved for release because whatever information they are providing is either about to go live or has gone live.

    I don't agree.
internal and proprietary what? I know a lot of software houses that uses to speak with community about bugs. They have a dedicated forum in which simply tell to community they are working on that or this issue. Every one know which bugs are ruining the games... internal what?

I was simply asking to know if/which bugs they are working on. Fox example there are months that my GF is really full of bugs and I could think that they will never fix them, so tehy could say to me: you are right, we want GF dead, or please, be patient we are trying to fix GF, or augment pets, or malabog queue bugs or... or... or...
