Got booted from guild, threatened by leader that i'm getting banned for trash talking

Hi, today i got booted from my guild for the silliest reason (Talking too much) apparently, along with another person. Anyways, not important. I messaged the leader ( was fairly pissed off ) called her an idiot. Later on i get a message from her that she is going to "Ban" me from the game because she knows somebody who works for it.

I'd like to know if trash talking somebody is actually grounds for a ban, or if somebody can have ties with people working at cryptic, and actually telling them to ban me. My name is Worstie ( Dragon server ).

Tl;dr: I would not like to get banned for mutual relations between staff and a player, guild leader is a power abuser and claims she has ties with cryptic.

Guys, comment your opinion, do you think people actually have ties with cryptic?

Everybody in the guild started protesting after our ban , this guild was huge, and me saying a couple of lines of spam caused me and another friend to get booted, 2 of our legend officers left the guild in protest. The leader booted everybody running dungeons, and at least 30 people left. Rip Secret order of the phoenix

Edit: Sorry if this is the wrong section, would be nice if a moderator would move it, and sorry for the language.

I think there would be a lot of people banned if trash talking was a bannable offense.

Yes, people can know insiders and they can actually ban you. However, if this action is found out, the employee runs the very serious risk of getting fired.

It is possible, however unlikely, that the person in question does know someone at Cryptic with the authority to ban you. However, given the choice between banning you and getting fired for improper use of their authority, even if it is true, I doubt the employee in question would be foolish enough to risk their livelihood for a buddy. Especially for something so trivial.

Wow, just be glad you're not in that guild anymore. Drama mamma for the lose. As far as being banned, I doubt it. Just put her on ignore and go about your business. Find a guild that has 0 tolerance for drama like that... like mine.

It's not about the drama, it's about how she claims to know somebody from cryptic. I did not do anything wrong, kicking me from guild for saying a couple of lines that she considered spam was not grounds for a ban, and as far as i know, a new guild is being formed.

You would have to do more than trash talk I would think. Possibly if you use very abusive language like "I'm going to find you in real life" etc. or used multiple racial/sexist etc remarks.

But saying "you're garbage and I hate you" probably wouldn't get you banned lol.

It all depends on the conversation. If the "words" contain anything that could be against EULA (racist comment, bad language and just harassment) you could get a ban if any were true (the "friend" would have to check the chat logs and dish out any standard punishment for anyone.

but if you did not do any of the above and just call her an idiot, then you are safe.

I always try to hear both sides. I have heard many stories (back being UO counselor) that he said/she said, but when looking at the logs there were a LOT who said what and how it was presented. I usually upgrade the ticket to the GM and someone usually get ban or nothing happens.

Before you fully commit to a guild you need to look at the 'leaders'.

Stay away from the drama types....male/female does not matter....stay away from drama.

Find a guild that is laid back and helpful.

...or join Insensitive, a guild who's leader is very cool and whose ethos is to not give a **** about anything! Trash talk is positively encouraged!

That is pure drama. Power trips = drama. Threatening tattling to papa or cryptic just because someone said something you don't like = drama. Instantly kicking people from the guild rather than asking them to stop first = drama.

Be aware of this and watch out for it. Good advice.
