Hey guys I played this game fairly much, and I wanted to make a BIS gear list for clerics or imput for one.
I would like input and thoughts
it goes
Head: Miracle healer or Beacon of faith both from spellplague
depending on setup
Chest: Miracle healer or Beacon both from Spider
Hands:Miracle healer
MH: Formorian is marginally better than ancient because if you have the full Miracle healer set or bastion you are recovery capped
OF formorian if your luck it is easier to get than Ancient offhand, but Ancient MH is much cheaper than formorian MH so its a trade-off
Formorian set is from Malabog's castle and Ancient is from Castle never last boss
Boots
Miracle healer or Beacon from Frozen hall
Sets in general
I would say the miracle healer set 4/4 is the best, due to the setbonus the pro here is you reach very high recovery. so you can socket full power
then their is Bastion2/4 and Miracle 2/4: this set has slightly higher power than 4/4 Miracle healer so you wan't your recovery to be higher then socket recovery
Neck
Ancient slave master, this gives defense and that combined with azure in defense sockets should cap you.
from second boss in castle never
rings
Both ancient slave masters rings, they are quite expensive they are good for all classes. drops from first boss in castle never.
Belt
Ancient slave masters belt drops in Castle never second boss
Pants and shirt
The epic socketable craftable version useable by cleric from 20/20 mail smithing.
Weapon enchant
Highest level vorpal you can get
armor enchant
Soulforged highest level you can get
Offense
Depending on your set power or recovery, power mainly
Defense
Azure for + defense
Utility:
Dark enchantment for run speed, now that gold is so easy to get
ofc their will be some switching in this or some people would prefer others items for pvp for instance, but for pve this should be the best in slot items. Also if you have this gear with high enchants aswell, you will also do quite good in pvp,
Ah yes my bad its called Beacon of faith not Bastion of faith, even though the latter sounds much more boss!

My opinion: DCs should go for what works best in PVP. Once you're geared, enchanted, and guilded, PVE won't be a challenge in PVP gear. The MH set is less than ideal in PVP, though still nice to have & swap for PVE (sometimes).
Long run, this approach saves a lot of AD and headache.
Armor set:
4/4 MH/Femorian
or
4/4 GG
or
4/4 High Prophet (Given it still gives +10% dmg/stack)
Weapons:
Femorian (Ancient's are almost as good tho.)
Enchants:
Soulforged (I guess, don't like negation as DR seems to cap at around 80% (Mainly has capped at 80% for me, tho, have reached 81.6% at the most (somehow..)))
Vorpal (Don't see much other choices here..)
Rings:
Ancient Priests Rings of Burning light
Neck/belt:
Ancient, rest is self explanatory..
Shirt/pants:
Guess..
Enchants:
Offensive should be Crit(/Power) imo
Defensive HP

Yes, this is what I do. Though I have been finding the pvp gear more fun in pve than the pve gear (despite dropping 2k gs).
However, PVE vs. PVP is more than just gear. It's also build. I'm recommending that DCs change from the 'PVE first, then PVP' mindset to a 'PVP first, then PVE' mindset. I recommend this because PVE is easy regardless of build/gear once you get to a certain point, and PVP depends significantly on build & gear.
I'm running Grand Templar 2 / Beacon of Faith 2 and it feels very fine on PvE (mostly only doing PvP for dailys...)
Also I'm thinking about Grand Templar 4/4 - that buff sounds nice (35% chance to grand 450 power + crit on nearby allies, once in 45 seconds)
Slavemaster's rings and belt, fugitive necklace - just focused on power, crit, recovery.
I'd call myself a casual gamer, so I still don't have the equip I'd like to have...
Missing some enchants, and still aiming for acient symbol.
Should end around 5k power, 3.2k crit and 2.6k rec...

But as everytime, I say: as long as the person can do the classes job, give a f* about equip and build.
Also I hope I can use my equip to other paragon paths, if they will be released someday...
Well, not only the Con/Dex Deflect build is a viable PvP build. If you want to play a cleric like a cleric and not like Robin Hood focusing on two secondary feats, you can still do it with correct itemisation and enchanting. You can go Wis/Con reach 30-32k hp and run with Critical (up to 30%) while boosting your Def stats...even with Divine Emissary's set. You can still tank people in PvP, and you will always be helpful in parties.
Depends. The notorious deflect/regen lolbuild, has driven the blues price skyhigh. You can do perfectly well in PvP (and I am not talking about running full premades, but PuG) with typical t1 epics and Defensive focus.

If someone has fun in not healing a lot and standing around watching others (that are not perfectly geared) beating on them then you might focus this playstyle. Otherwise to anyone that wants to have fun playing a healer in PVP (where you can heal your team members, where they need heals and don't heal up all on themselves anyway and where the team basically plays as a team and watches the healer) Neverwinter is the wrong choice.

There's a lot of truth up there. A couple things to note:
DCs provide damage mitigation for the whole team and some minor heals / regen. That can be very useful, assuming they can survive the pressure long enough for team to kill.
There are some potentially viable PVP DPS builds out there, but their efficacy depends on some bug fixes. Linked below.
Maybe future paragon paths will make for better burst healing?
Although I get the frustration coming from people that constantly run PuGs and they happen to get crushed during the gearing up process, and while they gather experience... I think that saying 'DC is actually useless as a healer' is far from truth.
I was disheartened also, when I started playing with my DC. If you stick to it, and learn when to dodge and position yourself correctly, your game transforms and you are one of the main units in the team, that if left unchecked, your team will have a huge advantage.
If you see all the good premades send a strong DC in the mid node and start their game from there. I am not saying that the learning curve is easy to follow, but I am saying that posts cursing the current role of a defensive healer are only showing half the truth.
Someone enjoys the defensive healer and wants to keep people alive, then DC is quite good. If the debuff on self heal goes away, probably DC will be able to self tank many people without needing to spec on Dex and Con.
I have 5 toons in 11-13k GS, and DC is by far my favorite to PvP with.
The mitigation thing is key, really: foresight + benefit of foresight is a flat 11% DR, and simply requires you to have healed peeps. Not healed effectively, or healed appropriately, or anything: just 'healed'. Divine armour, astral shield and hallowed ground are similar -the heal part of astral shield may be stat dependent, but the mitigations all these skills provide are flat.
The dex/con/def/ref invincible troll cleric can still provide all those mitigations, even if it can't heal worth a ****.
But yeah: as metagaming goes, it's a very odd path to walk. Certainly a far cry from anything you might expect from a healer.
kinda sad that my gear list and notes on how new clerics can gear, turning into something about specc and pvp.

if you wan't to talk pvp I will say that no matter what you do, break their spirit is the best ability you will have ever in pvp! if you count the damage it reduced as hp not missing therefor healed it heals quite well.

What would you say is an acceptable Damage Resistance for a DC?
I'm running 2,200 Defense at the moment with 23k health (14 Con) and it just doesn't feel like enough to tank very much damage (Grand Templar 4/4 + Hrimnir set).

it should be more than enough to handle anything thrown at you in pve.
but if its pvp? well according to most of the posters here Grand templar and the other set is useless and you need alot of defense and such.
but what I can reccomend you to do is run the setup with forgemasters,break their spirit and astral seal. with your gear current gear, you should rougly have around 30% constant damage reduction, then their is+11% from foresigt getting you to 41% if you combined this with shield it ups you to 60% and break the spirit removes 33% of their damage. You will have enough damage reduction to survive almost any 1v1 unless it is a perma cc CW or a really awesome rogue. running this with a high power, is alot of fun in pvp, you die abit more than regen i think, but you can also kill people quite effectively in 1v1
Personally I am at 2300 Def and 900ish deflect with the Div.Emissary set and feeling quite comfortable in PvP. I can tank 2 people easily and if I am good enough even 3 depending on the mistakes I make (and the people ofc).
In general go for the 30% damage reduction, which is translated in 41% if you slot Foresight and 46% if you are high on Crit.

you are not mentioning any items that are awesome in pvp?
