Assistant Alchemist to Alchemist

I have my Alchemy profession to level 20. However I don't see how I can upgrade my assistant alchemist to full blown alchemists. Did I miss something?

You can't. As assistant alchemist is all that is required for tier 3 tasks, with regular alchemists and above just providing a speed bonus.

However, when you upgrade mixologists, there is a small chance of getting an alchemist instead of an assistant alchemist.

Thank you. So I can keep my profession grinding in the hopes of such an occurrence to happen.

Well, you'd have to spend 18 hours to train new T1 alchemists, then take 4 of them and spend another 18 hrs to get a T2, all for a very small chance at getting a green-quality one... so I don't think it's worth the time to attempt to do so. You'd probably be better off either buying one straight off the AH, or running basic leadership tasks to generate AD, convert those to Zen, then buy a profession pack.

Well, at the moment there is no rush. I'll keep on doing the 18 hour thing. I just wanted to know if I was wasting my time with that.

No worries. My diamonds are going elsewhere. My main (the one who is not level 20 alchemy) is seeing to all my astral diamond needs.

i've heard that if you collect reward during the profession event that the chances to get a green quality worker increases.

And how exactly would anyone know that? It's such a rare occurrence that it would be impossible for a player to keep track. The only ones who know are the developers and I don't think they'll ever tell us (not saying that they should).

I guess someone did it once and it worked maybe once or twice and figured it was due to the profession even since humans like to link things even if it's just coincidence.

I remember this one guy back in the Summer Festival days saying that he got a green asset and that it might have been during the Professions time, but he really doesn't know... but it might have been, and everybody went crazy and said they would try. The thing is, the chance of getting a green asset even during Professions would still be low and you would still get a lot of common assets. And it takes about 3 days to get a rank 3 asset if you have all the crafting slots unlocked. It's really hard to keep track if the Professions event has any effect. I have trained a lot of workers, all I got were common ones no matter what event was on. I wish you all good luck in getting green assets, but I think it's less of a headache to just buy them.
