Tired of spam in your zone chat i recommend this solution every active player use

Hello,

if like me your sick of seeing spammable zone chat from gold spammers/guild spammers lfg spammers ect, your in luck my friends. join the newly created nospamzone channel for spam free zone chats. its worth it and it would help build the community so get the word out there for this simple fix to the gold spam problem i encourage every active player to switch their zone chat to nospamzone.

    Wouldnt that essentially just be a world channel? Since custom channels translate through all zones. Where zone chat is specific to one specific zone.

    even better no need for zone chat then, who the hell wants to see gold spam flood the screen every 2 seconds or guilds posting blah blah blah every 2 seconds as of now this is the only alternative to block out the spam to zone chat provided we can get the community to join.

    You realize that if you got enough people into that chat, they'd just start having their bots join it to spam as well.

    I'm more in favor of things like a rate limiter on how frequently someone can repost the same thing into any given chat channel.

    spammers dont read or reply to anything im pretty sure it's just a program running to log in spam log out and repeat

    This is not true. I had a few gold spammers message me over my comedy Gold SPAM foundry. They spammed my PM 30+ times telling me to "GET A LEFT".

    I think they ment "GET A LIFE".

    Go play my GOLD SPAM foundry. It is a comedy about defeating gold spammers, pvp bots and ninja looters.

    you know what the problem is if we`re going to sit in a public known channel, it`ll get filled with spam ;p

    you have several options available where gold spammers are concerned....

    #1. ignore them mentally.....with your brain. (waste none of your game time)
    #2. ignore them with the ignore option. (waste half your game time)
    #3. ignore them with the report spam. (waste half your game time)
    #4. create a custom channel that is invitation only and turn off zone/lookingforgroup/trade.
    #5. join a guild and turn off zone/lookingforgroup/trade.

    and dont forget to set yourself to visible to friends only to stop the whispers from gold spammers.

    lets face it, gold spammers are annoying, but it's been said many time before in many threads, there is no stopping them, even if there were chat moderators on 24/7, or a filter was made to catch the obvious, the people who make the bots would simply counter anything that was put in place and continue on their merry way.

    limiting the amount of time between chats wouldn't work either, it would only degrade the real players experience, bots would just be change to spam after the 15 second or the 30 second or whatever is what set too.

    bots dont care, they dont have feelings and they are automated.
