Flicking in and out of 'Combat Mode'

My GF is whipping out his axe & raising his shield constantly, then putting them away a few seconds later - it looks like combat mode, but isn't quite - I can interact with merchants, mailbox & transition when the axe is out. I tried transitioning, logging & a cold start on the client after reboot. My DC does not have this issue so I doubt it's a local equipment problem. Only thing new on the character is the Fey Thistle boon (only mentioned for completeness).

    I have the same problem on my GF after applying Fey Thistle boon yesterday.

    Do you play on a laptop with a touchpad? I get this all the time because I barely tap the touchpad with my left hand while running normally quite a lot, which registers as a left-click on my laptop. It's not enough to cause an actual sword swing, but enough to make my GF think she's in combat from me hitting a button. If this is what's happening, you would not notice on your DC because their at-wills only work on targets so it won't put you in combat mode for tapping left-click unless you're targeting an enemy.
