What if Foundry quests dropped unique items?

In Neverwinter, unique items are items with a distinctive appearance which can be found as quest rewards or as a random drop from a treasure pack. These items usually have strange stat combinations, and are often bind on pickup. They always come already identified, unlike regular items which come unidentified (except for those from the Sharandar treasure pack, whose items are always already identified, including nonunique items). Basically, their main utility lies in transmutation, as a way of giving your toon a unique appearance. Now, most of these items can be easily lost because you won't have enough inventory and bank space to keep them until level 60, when you no longer quickly out level your gear.

So I was wondering, what if Foundry quests granted random unique items from the reward chest? It would be nice to have another chance at getting those unique cloaks from earlier in the game that we had to sell to clear inventory space. Perhaps a high chance of an uncommon unique item, moderate chance of a rare unique, and a low chance of an epic unique. The drop rates will have to be playtested to strike the right balance.

With this change, epic toons have a reason to run Foundry quests, and the potential for abuse is minimal since the rewards are mostly cosmetic and would have no direct impact on the endgame. Other than helping make everyone look different... What do you think?

Would love a better rewards system. Even a token system where you could buy items for finishing foundries would be worth it.

I agree anything to make the foundry better I would agree to.

The devs are having a hell of a time making content fun.

If and only if the devs can implement some sort of "anti-cheez" system, to prevent exploitation of easy Foundry runs that take very little time, will we see more substantial rewards attached to them...

The Foundry is Cryptic's path to unlimited content they don't create which will keep people playing.
The current crippling restrictions to campaign creators not only removes half of what a content creator has t their disposal but also make sit so the reward for time put in does not warrant the effort. This leaves an amazing amount of content unexplored or even looked at.

Foundry creators should not only be able to specify loot rewards but also place nodes. I realize the issue has to do with some Foundry creators that would make one room with all nodes and chests but there is already methods in place to limit node harvesting. In addition any and all the dungeons Cryptic has created can be farmed unlimited and they have multiple chests.

Bottom line is Cryptic has a brilliant avenue to appease the rabid consumption of mmo content and they are slacking on delivering a robust method for content creators to design their campaigns. It is illogical and unless they rectify the problems with foundry limitations another company will do it at some later date and they will do it better and they will have infinite content created by users they don't even have to pay to have done. It is one of those serious win win situations but like digital music the dinosaurs usually take about 10 years to finally get the profitable and obvious success increase of innovation.

    Yes please!

Right now the only reason I run Foundry quests is to see new stories. If you're not an explorer-type minority like me, I can't see much good coming from it.

I'd even be happier if we could at least drop in some limited number of Skill nodes -- they're practically worthless anyway, and if we were limited to 20 or so...
...then some a$$hat would exploit it putting all of them in the pit with all the spiders that can't attack the PC.

Lets assume you are 60th level, your end reward for running a foundry quest is your astral diamonds. meaning you need to run 4 quests for that. The goal is making quests go in that 15 minute mark for people that are fun.

you could say for every 15 minutes of game play, the system counts thats as a 1 run. Similar to how if you win at pvp it counts as more than 1 play. This way quest builders can build longer quests that still reward people

I am a sucker for customization, but anything that would add content to the game is welcomed, in my opinion.

I know I am rare but I have spent about 600 real hours on my four soon to be five foundry missions. I would love there to be a CAMPAIGN system for foundry modules. Label 5-6 types, run it via a "harper" base and have each type be like the boons received in Shand.

Imagine 15 Minutes of Playtime equals 1 Spark. Have 100 sparks equal a boon. There is some truly incredible foundry mods out there. Have diminishing returns of two days per foundry quest and suddenly watch as a ton of the better foundrys gets hundred of plays a day instead of 4-5 if there lucky.

How about a Foundry Design option that creates a Game where its like a PVP style match against NPC's or Bots (monsters or random encounters) . It can be domination style or capture flag style and since the maps can be custom it would almost be like custom pvp maps. Bring a party and play domination against a boss, 1 healers and 3 lower mobs or something creative.
