Tank gear?

I've been leveling up my GF as a secondary character, and been primarily paying attention to my rogue. Well, I hit 60 last night. Time to buy new gear! Woot!

I have been worrying about my rogue so much, I failed to research the tank.

What is recommended? I don't have much AD so I can't spend a whole lot. Is the Timeless Hero gear as good as it looks? What about t1 PVP gear? Also, what are ya'll's thoughts on preferred powers/feats when I go to respec? Any help at all would be awesome!

Thanks! :)

So how do you want to play your GF and what do you enjoy?

Timeless is great for Conqueror specced GF's. Knight Captain is a great set for keeping your team buffed. High General is excellent for Protector and Tactician builds.
The right to command is earned through duty, the privilege of rank is service.

Since the stalwart nerf there really isnt a best set. Timeless is good for crit but has the worst defense, and offensive fighters who already stack power and hp have low def already (for a gf)

Gf is the easiest class to use 2/2 t2 sets for even more gs since 15-16k is seen as the norm for conq gfs.

Do a ton of Gauntlegrim and get the 4 set Champions gear. T2 and the set bonus and run speed is great for tanking and PvP.

2/2 Knight Captain + 2/2 High General combination might be considered as well for its 900 armor penetration bonus.

This what I roll with for tanking right now. High regen, high life steal, and a life drinker on my weapon. Played smartly you will carry groups through dungeons with ease.
    Threat level 60 Guardian Fighter
    Gloom level 60 Control Wizard
    Dusk level 60 Trickster Rogue
    Dawn level 60 Devoted Cleric
    Eclipse level 60 Hunter Ranger
Wrath level 60 Great Weapon Fighter
    Jinx level 60 Scourge Warlock

    Here's my current setup:

    At-Wills:
    Cleave 3/3 (left click)
    Tide of Iron 3/3
    Crushing Surge 3/3 (right click)
    Threatening Rush 2/3

    Encounters:
    Lunging Strike 3/3 (Q)
    Enforced Threat 3/3
    Griffon's Wrath 3/3 (E)
    Knee Breaker 2/3
    Knight's Challenge 2/3
    Anvil of Doom 3/3
Frontline Surge 3/3 (R) - I really like leading off with this
    Into the Fray 1/3
    Iron Warrior 2/3
    Knight's Valor 0/3
    Bull Charge 2/3

Class Features: - I can't remember which ones I have active, and forgot to look earlier. My guesses are indicated.
    Shield Talent 3/3 - X
    Enhanced Mark 2/3
    Guarded Assault 1/3
    Combat Superiority 2/3 - X
    Ferocious Reaction 2/3
    Trample the Fallen 1/3
    Enduring Warrior 1/3

    Dailies:
    Villain's Menace 3/3
    Fighter's Recover 3/3
    Terrifying Impact 3/3
    Supremacy of Steel 2/3 (2)
    Indomitable Strength 3/3 (1)

For feats, I went the Protector route. I maxed out Action Surge, Strength Focus, Toughness, Armor Specialization, Powerful Attack, Weapon Mastery, Plate Agility, Shield Defense, Shieldmaster, and Iron Guard (obviously). I have 1/x in Grit, Improved Vigor, Take Measure, Improved Reaction, Brawling Warrior, Overwhelming Impact, and Crushing Pin, and 3/5 in Armor of Bahamut, Fight On, and Balanced Shield Fighter.

    Questions? Thoughts? Concerns?

Thanks for putting up with lil' ol' newbie me :)

That works too... Did that until I got 1500 ArP between items and stone, then moved to using 2 full T2 sets (1 Tank, 1 DPS). Have a look at the table I made to see if anything else may jive with your config design:

Exactly, just with blue equipment you can reach 13k+ gear score and deal huge amount of damage in Conqueror spec. What I recommend for people who basically want to rock with spending less than 100k on gear:

+5 Smiting Valiant Helmet (437 Power, 500+ Defense) - cost: ~100 AD - No Enchant
+5 Smiting Valiant Boots (437 Power, 500+ Defense) - cost: ~100 AD - No Enchant
+5 Smiting Valiant Gloves (437 Power, 500+ Defense) - cost: ~100 AD - No Enchant
    +5 Smiting Valiant Armor (679 Power, 700+ Defense) - cost: ~100 AD - Rank 5 Radiant (+480HP)

    Smiting Nefarious Ring (243 Power, 133 Critical) - cost: ~1000 AD - Rank 5 Radiant (+120 Power)
    Smiting Nefarious Ring (243 Power, 133 Critical) - cost: ~1000 AD - Rank 5 Radiant (+120 Power)
    Smiting Nefarious Necklace (243 Power, 133 Critical) - cost: ~100 AD - Rank 5 Radiant (+120 Power)
    Smiting Nefarious Belt (243 Power, 133 Critical) - cost: ~10000 AD - Rank 5 Radiant (+120 Power)

    Guardian's Elegant Pants (non-slot) - cost: ~2000 AD
Gemmed Embroidered Shirt (slot) - cost: ~10000 AD - Rank 5 Radiant (+120 Power)

Any Shield with AC and 100+ Power on it - cost: ~10000 AD - Rank 5 Radiant (+480 HP)
Main Hand with decent Weapon Damage & Power - cost starting at 10000 AD - Rank 5 Radiant (+120 Power)

    On augmentive companion:
Piercing Berserker Ring (243 Armor Pen, 133 Crit) - cost: ~5000 AD - Rank 5 Dark (+120 Armor Pen)
Piercing Berserker Necklace (243 Armor Pen, 133 Crit) - cost: ~100 AD - Rank 5 Dark (+120 Armor Pen)
Third item depending on pet, again with Rank 5 Dark (+120 Armor Pen).
3x Eldritch Runestone Rank 5 (+120 Armor Pen, +120 Armor Pen, +7% of Pet Stats)
With this only you will be very close to 10k power with Reckless Attacker and close to 20% Armor Penetration and close to 20% Crit.

This setup will already put out much dmg in PvE. Going from blue to T2 will not make too big of a difference. If you have AD you're willing to spend get the CN/MC weapon set. This will push your DR quite a bit.
