I love the foundry feature, it's one of the best thing in this game, but often I don't feel motivated in playing foundry quests cause I know I winn not get anything good from them.
I mean, drops are the same you get farming any map of your level, maybe worse, and you get no special quests/rewards whatsoever. Even the exp isn't good, since it's limited and if you gain "too much", then you stop getting exp and drops for some time (so with both my TR and my CW I usually gain 50% exp and drops than I should).
I'd like to play more foundries, just would want to gain there as much as I gain outside them. No more no less. Actually, just reached 60, I often prefere to farm sharandar than doing foundries.
P.S.: How exactly the exp/drops limitation works in foundries? Why/when you stop getting them and for how much time?
It's a game. The end-goal should always be to have fun. If you're looking at anything except "fun" as your goal of playing, I would venture to say you've messed up your priorities at some point.
Obvious statement, but the obvious answer is that some people have more fun looting and enhancing their character, than following a story. For me both things are important, but I admit that in a pc game the first one slightly prevail. I'd like to try out a lot of foundries cause some of them have really nice plot and background, but if the gain in terms of exp/loot is so "nothing" I'm not doing it. Just asking if there is a way to gain something from playing foundries but I think I already know the answer.
My other answer was: How exactly the exp/drops limitation works in foundries? Why and when you stop getting exp and drops and for how much time?
I get PMs asking me all the time how much gold drops on my foundry. I am baffled at this question. The foundrys drop the same rate as any other map/area in NW. They are used for for dailys which = ADs. Also can be used gather runes etc. Other then that they are for your enjoyment.
I make comedy foundrys sooo I hope to make you laugh and enjoy the time you spend on the foundry. Rather then farming the same monsters over and over. That is rather boring to me. If you want a farming foundry. They are not hard to find. Exp/loot is caped and is on a 24hour timer I think.
This is the problem: things don't work as you say. At the moment the exp/loot you get from a foundry quest is far lower what you get for normal maps, since there's some kind of tweak that works like this way: if you gain too much exp in few mins in a foundry, exp and drops are switched off for you for few mins. Let's say you have to face 4 savages: if you kill 2 of them in 2-3 mins, then the other 2 won't give you any exp or drops.
As said I don't want more than i get outside foundry, I just want the same. At the moment farming Sharandar I get at least 2x the drops I get spending the same time on a foundry, and with my alts I get more than 2x exp doing questlines.
1000AD it's like nothing, it's about 1 cent of real life money, It's not that much at all to compensate. At the moment the only reward you can have from a foundry is a story, and for many people simply is not enough :-/
I've never seen a difference in number of drops in any quest. They're completely random from what I can see. The amount of experience earned from a Foundry is directly related to the amount of combat. Want drops and xp, look for combat heavy foundries. Real finds in the drops at level 60 are stuff that can go on auction. If you find one thing in the foundry that sells for 1k then you've doubled your money, and you can easily find several things to add up to that.
I have been leveling almost exclusively in foundries and now I feel like my character is weaker than most because there is hardly any drops. Also the foundry daily does not give nearly enough AD to buy gear either. I don't even make enough money to cover potions by doing these foundries. I am losing money every time I do a foundry. I only do them because they are more fun then main part of the game.

Believe me, there's a cap. I read it on this forum and to verify it I tried a farm quest with just savages: if I kill one too quickly (and I do, both with my TR and my CW), the next 2 savages don't give me absolutely anything, no exp, no drops. I know it is to nerf farm foundries, and it's right, but it's actually preventing me to play any foundry, cause I know I will get less than 50% of usual rewards in there. I like foundries, but at this moment they're just good for the people that really don't care about loot.

Yup, if your motivation is monetary gains, then farm the crpytic maps or join dungeons.
If your motivation is the love of a good story or humor, even the thrill of the combat system, then foundries are for you.
Wow, apparently I've never really seen that much combat in a Foundry. lol I've been in Foundries where I've had to leave stuff laying everywhere after filling my inventory and thought they were combat heavy.
To clarify, is it an actual cap on xp and drops in a Foundry, or is it a cap on the total number of xp and drops within a specific time frame? Each is a completely different type of cap.

Time frame. As said if you kill 2 savages in 2 minutes (let's say) you won't get any exp or drops for 3 minutes. It's very annoying. Some kind of reduction like fixed -20% exp would have been acceptable, but this make me often stop and wait before a fight cause I know I would get nothing from it. This totally ruins my experience. It's sad but I think I won't play foundries anymore.
Give a shot with mine, it has a ton of encounters in a single map instance that you can finish in 25 minutes. I play through it and get pretty solid drops as a Level 60 character, and it is highly concentrated without being overwhelming:
Note, that I cannot control the drops, no author can... but normally, high level encounters can give some good drops, and all encounters on my map are either STANDARD or HARD... so, I was banking on some good stuff, like what you get off the encounters in Sharandar. However, there is never any guarantee... it is all part of the grind man. My map is like a farming, but with a storyline to it.

Why you say rewards are Greater in that foundry? Isn't it affected by this tweak/cap too?
