How long did it take you to get geared for CN/MC?

For those who farm T2 and run CN/MC regularly, how long did it take you to get geared?

I've been playing on and off since May and am still finding it difficult to gear. I've been playing more since the changes to loot, regretting not having geared before then. DD is a hit or miss for me, usually it goes well in the day but at night I find it very hard to get a group.

What has your experience been?

I used 1 toon to gear up 5 with the stuff from GG. Can't do that anymore....don't need to anyway. I mostly venture in Malabog Castle now these days working for my new sword.

Fully geared 4 characters to 12.7k gs (thats bis t2, ancient weapons, and rank 7 enchants). Well my gf would be only 12.7 since she has the same gear as the rest of my characters but lolpower so she has 15.9k gs.

Its taken me since may but i finally completed a perfect vorpal (85 coal wards, 256 shards, yes its MUCH cheaper just to buy it) for my tr. Also just hit 20 weapon smithing so will have fabled formorian weapons to replace ancients as soon as mainhand is done cooking.

I play a few hours everyday, farm cn most days or run t2s for fun, much less now with bop change mostly just farm cn or 2/3 mc.

Edit: i suppose to answer the original question, was doing cn in open beta so maybe 2 weeks to gear enough to kill draco? Half a week to hit 60 a week and a half of running t2s? Wearing an assortment of drake rings and t2 set items and weapons? Keep in mind t2 weapons dropped from dd chest of normal dreadvault (lvl59-60 dungeon) back then so dps was easy to gear up to a respectable level quickly.

I got to CN in week 3 of open beta, 15 days or so after begining `playing... was not hard then.

Takes all of about 20 minutes to gear up a fresh 60. Just pick up some super cheap purples on the AH. Slot some rank 4 or 5s and off you go. That is, for T2. CN can take a bit more, as is it intended.

Roughly 3 months to get 15.1 GS. All 6's and 7's and two lessers. Gemmed shirt and pants. I have owned 3 sets of T1, and 3 sets of T2. Up until my recent Timeless set, all was accrued through DD's, PVP, AH. Then I spent $200 and went nuts. This was all done 2 days before the BoP patch, when my Timeless set cost a fraction of what it would cost now.

Since BoP I have ran 0 DD's and now only PVP. I will jump in the new zone when the weekly is up to work on the boons. Just unlocked last zone, working on the 700 HP boon.

I don't think the gear is the problem for CN. 11.5K-12K should be enough.
But even to start with constant queuing problems, gather experience in it and you can't do these with Pugs.

Cn is easily doable with pugs. You probably cant do it with a group of random solo queuers that the game places into a group, but its unlikely that a queue group can complete any dungeon much less cn.

During beta played a rogue, after beta GF, then I hit 60 2-3weeks ago on my CW.

Only took 2days (after I hit 60) to get my High Vizier set:
Karru with trade chat pug 30min clear with gloves from chest.
FH took 2days and 2tries to get a TC-PUG that can kill last boss. Got my boots from chest.
SP with friends 25min clear and got my helm.
Bought tunic from AH for 100k.

Rest of my gear (bought all of them soon as I dinged):
Blue belt, two pyro rings for 30k each, gemmed pants and shirts from AH.

2nd day after I hit 60:
Think I had 11k ish at that point, not sure, but soon as I got my Vizier set I went and cleared CN with my friends. Had no problems at all (dmg output/cc/surv).

That's my story for CW but it was way way EASIER to gear up than what I had expected. Thanks to the tier selection option.
If I remember correctly, it took me about months to get my timeless/stalwart set on my GF before they added tier selection option for DD chest.

I have been playing since MAY aswell and still working on my char seems it is a never ending build-a-thon to find the right flow I am looking for.

I am a GF wearing full suit of Timeless Hero armor every piece is transmuted to something else except boots.
My current weapons are the Ancient Grand Knight Sword & Shield both are transmuted to different weapons. Weapon & Armor Enchants: 1x Greater Vorpal & 1x Greater Soulforged.
NOTE: I am Level 18 Weaponsmith and will be forging the Fomorian Long Sword as soon as I get to 20. I already own the Fomorian Fabled Shield. I use same armor and weapons for PvE and PvP but I have separate rings,belt & neck for PvP & PvE.
My PvE set up is:
2x Rings (Ancient Priest of Burning Light), 1x Belt (Ancient Necromancers Belt of Undeath), 1x Neck (Ancient Brawlers Necklace of Guts).
I have every slot for enchantments filled with Rank 8's 7x Dark 8s and 1x Azure 8. I have 3x Greater Tranquil.
My PvP set up is:
2x rings(Lethal Berseker), 1x necklace (Lethal Berserker) & 1x Belt (Lethal Berserker) I use for PvP only all 4 items w. Rank 8 Darks.

4 weeks or so for me. 1 and a half week or so to get to level 60. A couple days spent on T1s. Another week and a half playing around in T2 dungeons. Then tried CN with the guild (failing miserably the first time). I had around 10K GS.

I have 6 toons all self geared (armor sets) except my DC I got two parts from AH. rings if they are cheap enough I will buy from AH... (meaning less than 25KAD). After 60 usually takes me a few days to get to T2 playable. I will run T1s for rings and such, and PVP to get armor to be able to run T2s.

Full sets of T2 used to take me a 2-4 weeks. Now I can get a set in about 5 days thanks to the changes since patch.

So pre-patch it would take me up to 6 weeks to get to CN/MC.... post-patch typically 5-14 days.

To those of you for whom it was easy to gear up to take on CN/MC: do you have a guild that specializes in running dungeons? Did you do it with LFG requests? Because I'm having a tough time finishing the T2 dungeons in order to get a full HV set. I have only managed to finish Pirate King and Frozen Heart, and from the latter I was lucky enough to get the High Vizier slippers, but the other 3, can't seem to complete them. Would like to know how you assembled a team to go conquer these dungeons.

Me personally... have geared all of my toons EXCLUSIVELY with asking in zone/now LFG. My guild was pretty much just me until about 2 weeks ago, so I really didn't have a choice.

One char, 11.5 GS T2 HV and stone, rank 6 enchants, lesser soulforged. I believe it took about 2 months, I played almost daily. Didn't buy a thing with money, worked for everything. I would have geared up much faster if I would have given up unnecessary dailies and midsummer festival in favor of repeated T2>MC/CN runs. This is where the money's at. But I would have gone insane with it, so I took my time and did all kinds of stuff, bit of PvP, GG, festival, Sharandar... sprinkled with a few dungeon runs/day.

1) Use lfg channel.
2) If your group doesn't seem to have a clue just leave and find another.
3) Rinse and repeat (1)-(2).

//You dont need a guild to complete all these dungeons just need players that are competent.

i hade best gear as a gwf in beholder no tene.and 300 dragon egs never payed a dime.they didnt like that so i dont have it anymore

did you only read my post this is a ego post saying who got better gear and got it faster lol...u only pick on mine coz i have 10 times as the rest and y are jelaus incompentent to gear up your self. i was just saying what will happen to the people if they get to be to good without paying.and no one can save you here from me.my logic is far superior then yours
