The Cleric Companion has 'personal space' issues.

Seriously. Somebody needs to tell her she's not a melee fighter. She has a long range attack. Why does she feel like running up and giving all the enemies hugs? Stupid hippy instincts.

    Well actually if she didn't attack at all it would be nice.. she's a healler for f@ck's sake.. why does she attack? It's not like she deals any dmg anyway..

    Her attack actually heals you a bit on it's third strike, so I'm not going to complain too much about that. All I want is for her to make war, not love, with the enemies. Stop trying to invade their personal bubbles!

    I just watched her stand so close to an enemy that their bodies were merging, the enemy freaked out and used a knock back attack that sent her flying, and she just got up and ran right back into him. Poor guy.

    Companions die very quickly in epic dungeons or very high level areas anyway and they don't have a script to move away from red areas to prevent them from dieing even quicker in the first place. With that said, it doesn't matter if they fight near or far away from you. I actually prefer them to go up to enemies and give them hugs so that i can gain combat advantage (them being clerics and wizards and what not).

    The AI on the cleric companion is rather silly from what I've noticed. Why would an healer try to face tank mobs?

    It's ridiculous and I wish they'd change it already.

    I think this mechanic was on purpose or one of these many patches broke non augment AI even more.

    I guess you don't give her enough love so she is trying to find it somewhere else. :)

    Seriously though, companions AI is as basic as it gets and there is no way to give them specific commends either.
