Can someone tell me which path is the best for control wizard after this new patch ? I have Thamaturg but i heard that the nerf it... so i need help right now :P or someone have some konf off build and want to share with me (i have no money to experiment with all kind of paths)
Best what? Control? Oppressor. DPS? Thaumaturge. Utility/support/burst? Renegade.
You there. New to the game? Feeling overwhelmed? Maybe you think getting to end-game is impossible for a casual player like yourself, or maybe you just need to be around a community that helps each other stay sane and competitive with the latest news, current trends, random chitchat and most of all LEGIT (that is, we try to keep things fair) gameplay. If you don't mind being around quirky people and the rare occasional drama (one of our prominent TR members is apparently a mafia godfather) join nw_legit_community at http://www.nwlegitcommunity.shivtr.com/forum_threads/2330542.

Renegades own DPS in PVP.
Thaum's own DPS in AoE/PVE
Oppressors have good CC.
It really depends what u aim for
PVE or PVP
DPS or control/support
I personally respec into full PVP oppressor atm, still run CN and MC with no problem and yes I won't have a chance to top the dps chart but I can still do what cw supposed to perform in a dungeon.
PVP wise it is amazing, when u play with good players u notice how much difference it made by having those extra cc from a cw.
Personally I grant oppressor the best PVP path for cw. A simple reason: when u reach near max gear(12k.5 gs) and greater vorpal,
u can kill a cw as long as u crit regard less what path u build, but when fighting other classes Oppressor holds a distinguish advantage due to the playstyle change( Renegade and Tham essentially have same playstyle, Oppressor stands out on its own.)

I've lost count the number of times I've respeced. I'd say Oppressor is better at fighting tankier classes (GFs and some DCs and GWFs). The CC is just amazing. Against other CWs or TRs, burst damage wins. I've recently respeced to a PVP Thaum build, and the damage is just too good.
I'd say the cool thing about the CW is that whatever path you choose, they're all good for PVP.

Oppressor's still the weakest overall. And no, you won't stand vs a renegade, because they will kill you too quickly for you to even put your stacks of frost.
They do excel at being annoying with their ray of frost, but overall, they are just weaker. their damage doesn't quite reach the other two paths.
Thaum is a bit slower in pvp, because you have to do CoI first, which renegade doesn't.
PvE: Thaum
PvP: Renegade
Thaum can do good in pvp too, and renegade in pve.
Oppressor just doesn't stand anywhere near the other two. It's not useless, it's just not AS good.
And no, thaum and renegade have very different playstyle. That was a show of ignorance you just did saying that.
And rene have to hit a few times with magic missle to get a random proc of -15% mitigation.
Very true. All I needed to do was switch out RoE with CoI when I went from Ren to Thaum. Perhaps a one second difference in time? Not a big deal and more damage with Thaum in PVP.
even as thaum i used ray of enfeeble over conduit. it reduces more mitigation and you get that empowerment thing with also a shorter CD. Unless you insist on using both ray and CoI as a thaum, there is no big damage difference
Versus pugs I often run with CoI, RoE, CS and Icy Rays on tab. Stun, freeze and 2 damage debuffs for 35% damage increase.
Pugs it doesn't matter at all. A few days ago we ran a premade and slotted our crappiest powers versus a pug group. Our GF had no offensive Encounters slotted and I had Icy Terrian on Tab. Anyway, we smoked them.
I can't run without Repel against a good PM. Too much great utility... Debuffs with HV, knocks DCs out of AShield, knocks people of points, gets space between TRs and their Impact Shots. I could swamp EF for CS, but it's such good CC.
Yes, versus premades wizard has an utility role more, than damage. CoI, repel, icy rays and EF.

Renegade, until I realized this I was just not doing too well. Once I realized this I do fine (I am just an ok CW though so take my post with a grain of salt and listen to those who are uber good at it!!)
