I don't know what the quest designers had in mind when they created this area but this is imo the worst by far in the game. I've been able to access it today and had 3 quests to do, I hope it was the worst ones:
- there's a quest to find out guards and arm them. There are redcaps EVERYWHERE on this part of the map, at every corner, you can't make a step without having to fight one, because it's only small corridors, and they repop really quickly. Please give us a break.
- The war machine quests: unending waves of redcaps, including giantsouls, near the catapults. I was like "is it going to have an end"? Why so many waves? That's madness. This one takes twice the time other quests take, and probably 3 times the wyldwood gate quests take.
- I had to heal trees (or something like that). Again, you can't make a step without having redcaps attacking you.
The only time i had fun was the solo dungeon (the tower of celadine). While i don't mind quests taking time, i really hate not having a break between fights. The NPCs are way too close from one another on this part of the map, and not everyone plays dps characters only.
Well it is supposed to be this way... you're entering enemy's territory, it must be harder than the previous ones, it must be more packed and i love it, people complaining about difficulty in this game must make an effort of improving their skill/gear pronto.

I like it, to be honest. My favorite of the three so far.

That's not about difficulty, that's just about tediousness. It's supposed to be a daily, and it's a pain with my cleric, even with dps spells.

It sounds interesting and I doubt they will change it because they would be taking the risk to make it completely uninteresting. Kinda like the risk they would take if they buffed the classes instead of nerfing them. I should have access to the area tomorrow.
Every class has advantages and disadvantages. Learn the disadvantages of you class to overcome them. Learn the advantages of your class and the disadvatages of other classes to use them in pvp to win.
There is no point to whine for nerfs because you win some and loose some. Crying just makes a player look like a crier and no one, especially the devs, should take them seriously. Have a nice day!:)

Are you just now realizing that the whole design concept of this game is to be tedious, and the challenge for the players is finding ways to make it less tedious?

This is the only tedious area. When you're with others, it stops being tedious immediately. Small variations on the same theme make dungeons really fun for instance. I should add those dailies aren't fun because they provide no challenges. Dungeons do.

If it were too easy it would be really boring.

I think the zone is fine except for the quest issues (no blades from War Maker, frequently empty pods, etc.). The higher mob density does give it a bit more of an "enemy stronghold" feel.
Running this zone or any other Sharandar content is actually just as easy on DC as on CW, I find. On my CW I might have to actually dodge once in a while or risk having to use a potion *gasp*, but on DC can slot full AoE damage powers and not even watch my health bar. It's not quite as fast overall due to having only 3 encounters all on 10 sec+ cooldowns, but it's certainly not slow.
acctually the whole sharandar campaign is just a big boring time sink. you do the same quests over and over again without any challenge, without any real progression. they could just make a quest that gives us the chance to unlock all stuff after a 3 weeks timer. would be rather the same.
I'm a person that actually enjoys grinding most of the time, but this is becoming tedious even to me. The only fight that can be considered a challenge is the last fight in MC. Other than that the whole Sharandar campaign is basically a grind and the time it takes to get the rewards (boons mainly) has nothing to do with difficulty or players being lazy. It's because of the enforced daily timers. It's almost like trying to pray every day to get enough ardent coins for the angel.
I plan to get my boons, kill the dragon once (I'm not sure if I even want to do that with each char I have), get the fomorian set and then I will probably never set my foot in Sharandar again.
Again, one of the kewl kids, who doesn't want to work for his/her rewards.
Work for your sh..tuff or gtfo, unless you wanna make yourself look pitiful.
Rofl on that. You don't really mean that seriously, do you? You really call this "working"? I have absolutely no problem in doing quests, campaigns, crafting... you name it to earn stuff in a game. In EQ2 for example I did all the lengthy crafting quests that were available to earn the cool crafting gear and title. It was a hell of a time. BUT it was at least an interesting quest path. I had 9 chars that I crafted in all 9 different professions to the max level. It is not about "working" on something, it is about the boulders the devs put into your way to waste time. If they would have given us an interesting storyline with 100 different quests you would have to finish I would be the last to say that this is a time sink. But killing Redcaps every day to gather crystals and caps is just totally silly. Where is the game design and the fun factor here? You are the type of player that would even press a button 1000 times a day for 3 weeks that does nothing but count up to 1000 to receive a cool sword in the end.
Even with its faults, Sharandar represents at least a step in the right direction.
Yes, the quest grind is monotonous after you've done every quest available for the twentieth time, but the gameplay is fairly fun without being either a huge mess of red or being completely static. Even the epic boss design was a huge improvement and will be much more so when it's fixed.
I'm hopeful that the next module will be a further improvement. The lvl 60 game would be hugely reinvigorated by the introduction of new PvP maps and contests, and it would also be great to have epic content appropriate for smaller teams of 2 or 3, or at least content that affords players the option of entering with fewer than 5 players. Overall, more choice usually = more fun.
Yep , I have to agree , playing in this area with my CW main with all AOE's on my skillbar is big fun , if you are finding it really difficult maybe you need to get some upgraded gear?

Didn't think it was so bad. Tower of Celedine on my GF was a minor pain on the boss fight, but still seemed pretty easy to me. Haven't unlocked it on my CW or DC yet.
Boring creatures to fight only adds feyhounds in the tower. Already sick of fighting redcap after redcap. Not looking forward to grinding this area for the buffs.

exactly. This is the most annoying part of this area. opening plants and no-one drops out over and over and over
I was also underwhelmed by the design of this area.
Fights are still easy but just not interesting (except the hounds :-)
btw: to the person starting this post. If you are mounted on a high level mount, it seems like you are mostly ignored by the groups of trash if you stay even a short distance away from them and can avoid a lot of useless fighting
The only good thing about the new zone is the view are actually kind of nice. Besides that meh. Those stupid dailies? Plz a 3 year old can come out with something a bit more creative.

Are they good? or just new currency ways?
But it's not hard, it's just endless waves of stupidly easy npc.
