There needs to be a stiff penalty for dropping out. And who cares if someone gets credit for coming in and saving the match/dun for those who have waited and waited for a queue to pop, just to have it spoiled and have to start the cycle all over again. At least they would be participating, they should get something.
I have gone an entire days waiting in queues, and not even had a single full run due to droppers.
There are plenty of easy games out there for those who cant cope
I know I'm new to the game but its not my first rodeo, this trend is killing a lot of good games. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

If they did that people would pop in when somebody drops out with maybe little time left and get full credit. Won't work.
Honestly? I'd rather have this than get stuck in a 2v5 or 1v5 match (yes, indeed, I have had this happen in PvP), or get stuck at the end of a dungeon and be unable to complete it because folks had to leave due to time constraints. Of course, I stopped queuing for anything weeks ago because I refuse to cheat and exploit, so this is pretty moot for me at this point and will remain so until and unless something is done to stop the shenanigans.
The only issue I can see is with a leader being able to kick people for no reason and invite their friends, thus HAMSTER the people who did the work out of the rewards. They would need some way to deal with that issue.
This is something players have asked for since the beginning. Not a peep from the devs that they even recognize the problem, let alone interested in fixing it.

Well 4v5 in pvp is not fun and it's usually at the start of the match. Something needs to be done.

Don't hold yer breath.
