Aranea Question: Where is the "distinct look" for each Arenea?

Hello all!

I got my husband an Aranea, and liked her so much I farmed for one for myself- in all the advertizing for the companion I read that each one was supposed to be unique...as in I expected different hair color, tattoos, races, spider types, etc.

Ours look exactly the same. Did anyone else see the "distinct, unique appearance to each Aranea" or am I losing my mind?

    Aranea

"An aranea is an intelligent, shape-shifting giant spider with innate magical ability. It can assume two forms: a humanoid form with a specific appearance unique to that aranea, and a giant spider."

The Aranea is a rare drop from a [Feywild Lockbox]. "

Exact quote. Why do they all look the same?

My educated guess. There will be more aranea's with differing appearances. And the humanoid will be unique per aranea not player.

    Could be wrong.

From what I noticed, the face geometry of each Aranea can look different.

I've seen some pretty faces, but I've also seen some others that really don't look favorable at all.

I thought the same thing as the OP. I expected each one to be unique in some way. I still haven't seen one (that I know of) so I can't really say much as to how they look. Is it at least a decent companion? I have been thinking of getting one but I don't really hear much about it. I don't know why, but I still like trying out different companions. I think I am HAMSTER because they almost always end up disappointing me. The portal hound isn't too bad though. I kind of like that one and if it was an epic pet from the Zen store I might have bought a few. It really looks like a Siberian Husky so I had to get at least one to try it out.

So far, it seems to be a very good companion for a GWF or a GF considering one of her trademark moves is to "web" her targets into place. However, at level 60, like every other companion, she dies often during the levelling process. At full 30, gemmed correctly and geared with some hitpoints she has potential to be on the useful side.
