Hello
I have a problem with my foundry quest. I made this very detailed map with quite a bit of complex story telling and A LOT objectives. (I have max NPC's for example)
Now I need that same map in a "at night" situation. So I tried to duplicate the map but the foundry keeps crashing, I guess it is to heavy loaded with content. Or might it be the problem of my computer?
Here is a image of the content on the map:
Now my question is, can you somehow save a map (like on your account) and or load it into another foundry? Why you might ask me? Because I can duplicate the whole foundry, but not the map (yes weird huh). So if I make it "empty" in another foundry and then can import it back it would fix my problem.
Maybe someone knows a work around or fix, I welcome any advice. Thanks in advance.
###UPDATE###
The problem is "fixed" now. I had to remove every npc and replace and relink them. Thnx for all the help.

You should be able to copy the current map you wish to use within the same quest though. It is possible that all the items and objects is restricting you. Dunno.
I have reused maps in my quest, but took a different approach. I usually make my maps as complete as possible before adding content, and have never had an issue with a copy within the same quest.
I do it this way because the first time I attempted to copy a map - for the same reason you want - the map was complete with NPC, Dialog, etc. Well, EVERYTHING (all objects), within the copy became interactive. It was a frustrating experience.
I would suggest making a copy of the quest itself to experiment with. Enter the copy and try to remove encounters, then NPC, etc. Try to ascertain as what point it will allow you to copy the map in question. If nothing works, then you still have not totally hosed your creation and can just delete the copy and rethink the endeavor.
Another item that makes the foundry stubborn and hard to use is object count. It begins to do odd things around 1250+. I have heard that too many dialog items also does this, but none of mine have that much dialog so I never experienced this particular Undocumented Feature.

My question would be: What are you trying to achieve?
Do you need a duplicate of this map in the same quest, or in a different quest?
If you need it in the same quest, the only way is to duplicate the map. I've duped maps with 1500 assets before, and I have a map with 1500 assets and 50 NPCs, but I've never tried to duplicate that. My advice would be to maybe remove a few of the NPCs, then try duplicating again, if you can't get it to work.
If you need it in a new quest, you'll have to dupe the entire quest and remove the bits you don't want.
If you need it in a different quest that already exists, then you're kinda out of luck, alas. We currently can't copy maps from quest to quest.
The only way currently to successfully copy maps across quests is to use the quest duplicate.
First I rename the quest to something that is very short as failure to duplicate is 90% of the time because the quest name is too long, once the COPY OF, is added to the quest name. Then I duplicate the quest. Delete all story objectives and look for errors. As I resolve errors I am creating clean copies of NPC or other items that may have been linked to story elements before. When I am done I have a copy of the original quest with all of my details and NPC's clean and ready to tell a new story. I rename the original quest back, and rename the copy to the next quest name. If you are smart, and know that you have created all the maps that you plan on sharing across quests. Make a couple extra copies so you have a clean copies for the next campaign parts. If you are dumb like me you go through this process every time you are ready to do the next part of a campaign as you are constantly making small changes to maps and such that need to the persist as the story continues. I have not done this since the release of Feywild but this has worked successfully for four iterations of quests for my campaign so far.
One thing to keep in mind when copying maps within quests. If you have any dialogs attached to detail objects there is an error that can duplicate that dialog with every detail object on the map. Best method is to remove all dialogs before copying maps. This may now be resolved but it used to be a huge problem.
Huh... I don't really get this.
So I copy the whole existing foundry quest, make it empty and then rename it back? But won't it overwrite the original one and then I still lose that first map.
What I am trying to achieve:
I have made a daytime map with a story and objectives. Later the player goes inside and comes back out when it has become night. So I need that same map (without the story telling, npc's and objectives) in a night situation. But with the surroundings like tree's and houses and I am not just talking about a couple of tree's.
I just need a copy of it. I can clean this existing map but that means that my whole story so far will be lost. I spent 2 days on it so... that's a no xD
Hmm ok I try to work in that copy then, see what I can do. Thnx
and then get into the other quest how?
I am able to duplicate the map once all objectives are removed. My problem keeps excisting tho. I don't want to build the story all over again... Although I just might have to >.<
I will start on placing every npc of 50 back and relinking them. ****
