I recently completed my 4 piece Swashbuckling set and my recovery was bumped up to 2000 out of combat, or 3000 with 3 stacks from the set bonus. This allows me to use a daily on almost every large trash pull in difficult dungeons. Historically I've always used Lurker's as my daily in PVE and prior to the nerf it was amazing to have so much recovery. Now I am thinking that with such a drastic nerf to our Daily damage potential, it would be worth it to move some of that Recovery into Power instead.
What does the TR community think?
To me it just seems like Lurker's isn't even worth the trouble of using on trash anymore. I've actually taken to using Shocking Execution on most trash just because its easier to use and less prone to being wasted or endangering my life.

if you used LA and SE on trash mobs, you were doing it wrong, sorry to say. LA main use is for massive nuke on bosses (well not so massive now as before nerf), trash mobs rarelly survive long enough even without LA on, so its like shooting a cannonball to kill a fly. SE is almost exclusivelly a PVP daily since its usefull to finish more resistent opponents such as GFs (as long as they dont block) and GWFs, the only use i can think of in pve is to land a good blow on bosses after their hp has been considerably lowered and even so i am not sure on how much is the damage cap against bosses since i dont know how well it scales with the huge health loss a boss suffered between full bar and lets say 50% less.
Your recovery can still be usefull for whirlwind of blades (pretty good to clear waves of trash mobs and bumps your power for some time too providing more damage to deal on what remains standing) or Bloodbath (given it gives you breathing space during its execution since you cant be touched then, and if used on single target (bosses) it can deal quite some damage) and also recovery is essential for the permastealth builds to keep shadow strike and B&S up for filling up the stealth meter.
You cant discard the fact that LA even though got nerfed is still a 25% dmg buff to you, so you will be using it a lot on boss fights, it just wont be as effective as before, but its still effective to some extent.
So to answer the main question the stat is still very important to you, the nerf on LA shouldnt be your main reason to stop using it, too many other things can make good use of a high recovery.

I was usually able to use a LA efficiently on trash mobs. I just pick out an elite with high health and jump it right at the pull. Whirlwind and Bloodbath don't do nearly as much dmg as a full LA rotation, even on trash packs. And like I was saying, my daily is up almost every pull, so I may as well use it instead of saving it for bosses.
I know that Recovery is very useful for encounter cooldowns and that dailies are still an important part of our dmg, but it just seems to me that the enormity of the nerf to our best PVE daily would make it worthwhile to trade some of it out for power. Like i could move from 2000 recov to 1600 and add 400 to my power. That would make all of my abilities hit harder.
the return onpower is marginal at best. 1000 power will increase lashing blade only about 180-200 ddamage (every 15 secs or so at that). 1000 power adds about 11-15 damage to duelist flurry. If your armor pen isn;t 2500, then thats where you should stack enchants. Armor pen will increase your damage far beyond any other stat.

As for LA for the big mobs i agree it helps, specially if you have it nearly everytime, but the point on Whirlwind of blades isnt to hurt so much the big mobs, but to clear on the smaller mobs or at least give a nice push for a CW's aoe to finish the deal, usually when the small mobs are dead people focus whatever is still alive (the big mobs) and make short work of them.
As our friend pointed out if you really want to trade recovery for anything, do it for arpen, or critical strike, but arpen for sure if you are aiming at higher dmg.
But all deppends of course on your pick for build.

true
now as for this:

400 power will do nothing for you.
