I've been using this setup since before the nerf and it is still effective as ever.
Even with the ninja defense nerf.
Healing word, break the spirit, astral shield.
with that setup and if executed properly you should be able to easily 2v1 any combination of classes and kill them both over time. (unless it's duel clerics, then it might be like an endless battle.)
I always start off with AS (astral shield) obviously.
But the two key factors to staying alive are #1: DoT all of your attackers with brand of the sun.
If you took the feat I did, this DoT should reduce their damage and crit by 5% each.
Then hit the main DPS with break the spirit, to cut their damage output even further.
This helps immensely with surviving.
#2: Healing word, cast two of them on yourself 2 seconds before your AS turns off.
Once off, if you put any points towards charisma your AS's CD should be around 4 seconds.
So those two healing words you cast on yourself before your AS turned off will continue to heal you as you take damage without your AS being up.
At this time you also want to try and dash any stunlock combos.

EDIT: If you want to see my build and don't already have a guildportal account, just quickly make one, then you can see it.
EDIT 2: Some people where having trouble accessing my DC build so here it is in the NW forum.

Also it's a real breath of fresh air to finally see another person on forums who knows clerics can tank the HAMSTER out of other players in pvp. From what I've been reading I wouldn't be surprised if most people playing clerics on the forum just panic when they see an enemy, run around and forget they have heals.
Yeah, I cast it twice just to make sure it crits. With my build I only have 1.3k crit so far.
As for seeing my build, all you have to do is make a guildportal account and you can see it, it's pretty simple.
Also, fear plays a big part in PvP. Lots of people see something like a GWF or GF and assume they're too OPed and just run.
I reset my password and it says "You are not logged in with the correct permissions for that forum." It appears if I want access I need to fill in an application to the guild.
That sucks. I'll just make a new thread with my build it in to make it easier.
but hows ur performance in PVE? CN/MC?
what will be the recommended crit/recovery?
as my build now i'm actually full Str/Charisma to maximize my crit and AP gain/CD
this build have no problem for PVE even for CN/MC
but i want to do well in pvp as well, at least to heal and be able to survive dmg
im planning to go for MC armor set
cause the stat is about the same as T2 (currently 2+2)
as for weapon, oni using drake weapon XD
im pretty sure about my skill and feat allocation
but i want to hear more about stat allocation
deflection and regeneration seems cool
but what will be the suggested figure for power/crit/recovery/def/deflect/regen
planning to get a stone as companion, maybe would put more recovery/crit in companion set to compensate it for PVE
My strategy for PvE is to draw all threat to me.
I have no skills to cut my threat so I usually pull all aggro. Which allows me team to kill the enemies easier because they're all in a big mob around me. Basically my job becomes surviving against the mob which isn't hard.
From what I'm reading here, I think most attackers against a cleric suddenly forget they have tns of CC to prevent a cleric casting anyting or simply knock them out of their fluff-fancy-unicorn (tm) circle.
rinse repeat
Good skill board but all those skills take skill to aim in the midst of combat. Not to mention even in divinity daunting and chains can both be dodged.
It was a little bit unclear, so I corrected it for you.
It is executed at close range. Slide into enemies and chain where you stand. Slide out, daunting light.
little chance to dodge. little need to aim.

That's a good example, but what happens when daunting doesn't crit and they're still alive?
So you caught some noobs (rogues and wizards) by surprise with assist from a rogue. None of the noobs used their CC or antri-CC skills, not even dodge. Try this with a GWF or GF or a rogue actually know what he does.
