Question for RadeonPro users

Greetings,

After downloading the patch for the new expansion, I exited Neverwinter and attempted to launch it with my typical RadeonPro profile settings activated. The client proceeded to crash when I clicked "play" without fail over multiple attempts. Have any other RadeonPro users encountered this problem? Any insight you might provide is appreciated!

Aside from this question, are there any other RadeonPro users out there? I'd like to discuss settings with you!

    Cheers,

I have a Radeon HD 7850 - no problems, on Preview I did set Anti-Aliasing to 16x and it crashed the game, haven't tried since since a low AA setting doesn't seem to make too much difference. You may want to load the game in Safe Mode (once you load the launcher - top left - click Options - Safe Mode) and see if you can adjust your graphics from in came once loaded up. Never tried SweetFX or anything similar for any vid card so can't comment there. This forum may also be of help to: http://techsupport.perfectworld.com/forumdisplay.php?f=352

Have you tried it since the patch?

Numerous stability (crash) fixes were put into place so there's a chance it may work better. If not it's always good to post the error ID as well as your full system specs. :)

I've not had the chance to log in since the new patch, but I will update you all here when I am able to.

    Thank you for your responses,

    Good morning all,

I patched up yesterday, but was still unable to get the game to launch with RadeonPro active. I tried a variety of things in my attempt to solve this mystery last night:

    1. Running RadeonPro and Neverwinter Online as administrator- immediate crash upon activating gameclient.exe

    2. Running RadeonPro and Neverwinter Online not as administrator- immediate crash upon activating gameclient.exe

    3. Adding the Neverwinter launcher to the "custom launcher" in RadeonPro- crash upon clicking "play"

    4. Launching Neverwinter through RadeonPro with only RadeonPro default settings in place- immediate crash upon double clicking gameclient.exe

    5. Launching Neverwinter through its launcher, but with RadeonPro active- immediate crash after clicking shortcut icon

    6. Launching Neverwinter in Safe Mode- This worked, but why must I launch it in safe mode? This is a mystery.

    7. Launching Neverwinter in recommended compatibility mode- Using this, I was able to launch the game, but was given a message that server communication timed out each time and was unable to progress to the character screen- very odd.

    8. Re-installed sound and video drivers. No luck.

    9. Ran disk-check on Windows startup. No errors, no bad sectors.

    10. Launched Neverwinter without RadeonPro active. No problems.

    My system specs:
    Manufacturer: Alienware
    Model: Aurora ALX
    OS: Windows 7 64-bit
    Processor: Core i7 980x @ 3.3ghz
Graphics: AMD 7970 (13.8 Beta Driver)
    RAM: 12 GB
    DirectX version: DX11
    Anti-virus: Bitdefender 2013

One other note. I noticed that new installs of the client are launching through the ARC interface. I haven't had to do this, as I've had the client installed since Beta. Could this be part of the issue I wonder. I am given a "Ticket Code" upon crash, but do not see an error ID.

Installed the April 1.1.1.0 Build and I got the same issue, crashed at startup. A temporary fix would be to rollback to a previous version, 19/Dec/2012 build seems to work.

Just find the link in the post for the 19/Dec/2012 build.

I am running with much older drivers and it works. Anytime I upgrade, Neverwinter no longer works. :(
