I know there are other threads similar, but I think that similar threads reinforce sentiment. I recognize the importance of not flooding the market with high-end gear: it devalues it, I don't think it was ever meant to be a primary source of AD anyway, and I don't even object to the idea that PWE/Cryptic needs an economy with just the right amount of AD floating around: enough to keep it healthy, let people buy stuff, AND have enough tension that yes, people spend money on Zen.

Personally, I don't object to T1 and T2 gear being BOP, as long as it's salvageable, which to my mind is PWE/Cryptic's way of controlling the price (feel free to disagree, that's valid, too). The things that have been jumping out at me are:
  • Feywild bounty bought rares BOP - you can't even sell these - they're just more vendor trash, like the other bounty stuff.
  • Skirmish BOPs - same story, vendor trash.
  • Epic Feywild items can't even be given to your other characters (account bound) meaning that after a certain point, half the rewards of Feywild have only a salvage option.

I have a couple of suggestions:
  • Allow blue items from Skirmishes/Bounty to be BOE - it's goofy that they're of less value than regular blue drops that can be sold or traded.
  • Barring the above, make rare skirmish/Bounty items account bound, or even better yet salvageable for a couple of thousand AD: you're still controlling the market, but not making the items useless. Basically, if you're protecting the economy by making an item BOP, make it salvageable so instead of the "let down" feeling when I see it I can at least get some AD out of it.
  • Allow epic items to be account bound, so I can use my extra Feywild currency to buy stuff for other toons if I want.
  • Provide more things in the Feywild store, to use the rewards on: the gear is less valuable, so put something else in there to make it more interesting.

Thoughts? Anyone else have complaints that they can pair with solutions that might actually be implemented (as opposed to just saying roll it all back! as I don't think that will happen)? I think the time of selling epic gear at the AH is over, but it doesn't mean that lesser things couldn't be BOE, or that characters have better options for spending currency.

Cryptic should use the same formula as other companies have used. Bind on pickup boss drops with the DD chest being Bind on equip. Mobs throughout the dungeon have a small chance of dropping Bind on equip Blue/Epic level gear. The % can be changed to help keep the market from being flooded with Boe items. The idea of being able to run on over to your local Ah, spend Ad on a full set of T2 gear without ever having to set foot in a dungeon was the wrong approach.

Bind on Pick-up was the death of this game.. you can see the game dying right now because of this...The only way I will comeback to the game is:
PVP- gear goes back to BoE , that way people will go back to doin pvp
GG - gear goes back to BoE , so there is a reason to do GG
Dungeos - Boss drops are changed into usefull gear (i.e.Pyro bands Ice rings etc) and made all BoP , so there is a reason to do dungeons outside DD
DD - gear goes back to BoE , so there is a reason to do the event
Rough AD limit gets increased or removed ,so there is a reason to salvage ethically whatever is BoP
Augment-Transmute-Bazzar etc. prices are cut down atleast 50% - so there is a reason to buy this garbage.
Finally - Reworking Add mechanics and fixing exploits and bugs , so there is a reason to play again the game (and maybe just maybe even spend some pennies on it)

Don't you get it? PWE couldn't care less about the economy. All they're thinking about is stopping legit players who don't want to buy zen, but instead play the game from making any significant AD, or any AD at all if you don't wanna do the life draining and unrewarding dailies.
