Broken Feature Spotlight: Answer The Raven's Call

Just a head's up to everyone:

Since the new expansion, this foundry is completely unplayable. I have no idea what happened to the overland map, but someone needs to get out the round up.

Thousands of trees and bushes that were not in the original map have spawned, making the quest totally unplayable. I'm amazed people actually finished to start throwing one and two star reviews.

Please do not play it its current state. It is not as intended! I have submitted bug reports, but I don't know how long until the dev's will see this.

:( This is horrible. They have to fix this. I've been trying to tell people this map was broken, i've sent tickets and bug reports, people won't listen. Those trees being there are probably why the trail never worked and it took FOREVER to publish this map. Now they "fixed" something that made the trees appear. This is making me ill. Your quest was so amazing, and they broke it. And i'm guessing both of my quests are destroyed now also, as this map was my homestead and the base for my current and future quests.

To add: This is the map i was talking about in this thread:

I have pulled my quest because of this issue. The map called "Forest Looping Path 01" is broken, covered in huge trees. What is going to be done about this?

Oh gah! I just tried it to see what all the fuss was about. I am SO SORRY this happened to you. Luckily they disabled rating before the rating was too far diminished. I know it sucks to have 2, 1 star reviews sitting there at the top. Just remember, noone died. Everything is ok. A lot worse things can happen in life. They will fix this. Hang in there!

Hours after the reviews were supposedly disabled, I played through this map just to leave a message letting players know the map was bugged as a result of the patch, not anything the author had done. Four more reviews have been left since then and to be honest, I am a little in awe of the fact that people are still completing this quest. If I didn't have the motivation of wanting to leave a message, I would have given up before reaching the first objective - the map is so obviously broken and unnavigable.

Oh no, this has ruined my quest as well! It's pretty upsetting. Has any solution been found?

Yes. A fix is coming, but it won't be exactly the same map as before. You might have to do some edits when the patch comes out.

Have they said how different it will be? If the map is not identical it could still be a huge headache. My forest was infested with spiders and every single egg sac and cobweb had been hand-placed. I am really not relishing the thought of re-doing all that.

I'm half wondering if I should cut my losses now and overhaul that whole map on another template rather than waiting for the fix.

During Foundry beta, they changed some maps without notification, moving the terrain. That was beta though, so possible changes were to be expected..

My guess is that there will be some untargetable trees that will be in different locations. I'm just hoping some of the worst offenders, like the huge tree in the middle of my custom built cave will be gone. I have webs and such too, but most of mine are on details I placed.

I've thought about moving to a new map as well, but that would close to 30 or more hours to reconstruct. We shall see. I'm hoping on the positive side that the glow trails will be fixed for this map. I know that was a point of frustration for certain players.

It was based off of the Xtra Large Looping Forest Map, I bet. My foundry was destroyed due to these changes.

We have a fix for the Xtra Large Looping Forest Map in the next build.

Please hold off on changing your quests in any way.

There may be some slight changes that need to be made but the crazy forest will be no more.

I managed to get up to the "Find the Lair" bit after getting to the farmhouse, but couldn't go farther.

I logged in just to see how exaggerated the reports were, and man, that's ridiculous.

I gotta say though, its pretty cool how... densely forested it is though. :p

Wow. I had no idea they messed this quest up so bad.

I never got to play it because I was stuck in a tree at the quest start.
